Topic: Starfox Command

Just picked this up yesterday for a fiver and have to say I'm really enjoying it. The mixed reviews put me off buying when it was released but it actually seems pretty good.Better than Rare's attempt at a Starfox game at any rate.Like Advance Wars Lite meets Starfox.Weird but somehow kinda works. Anyone else got this game that fancies some Wi-Fi action sometime? I'd really like to try it but it seems that there is no one playin online (it is an old game afterall)

But why does it suck ?You simply can't say that it sucks, I need to know the reasons, damn it!!!!

It is short, and the "strategy" mapping elements were confusing in later levels.

Otherwise, I liked it.

Again, the Wi-fi made up for all of its downfalls.

I liked it, but the "strategy" elements kinda fell apart on harder levels. Too bad I can't play online with my DS anymore, I liked the online play while it lasted.

Not every game with Wi-fi makes it a masterpiece.

Especially when it's full of hackers

The online play was easily the low point of the game for me, actually. Seemed like a competition to see who could constantly cross his stylus across the screen the longest since you can pretty much infinitely barrel roll if I recall correctly. I barely played it though. The single-player was decent to play through once, but it just was not interesting enough to want to keep. After the first two Star Foxes, this one comes the closest to reliving the glory days, but it still doesn't quite make it. The final boss was fun, and the many different endings was a nice touch, even the goofy ones.

I loved this game, never tried it online.

(To me, online usually is worse IMO. Don't need online.)

I have only had this game for a few weeks but at first I wasn't very good at it. The controls were just hard to grasp for me, but once I got past that I thought it was a pretty good game. And the online is definitely great.

I don't know why it sucks. Ask the game!!

It's the only StarFox game I've played so I can't compare it to any others, but I love it! Combining strategy and dogfighting works excellently and the multi-branched stroyline adds good replay value. It's one of my favourite DS games!

Glad I'm not the only one who appreciates this game. I thought it had a strong argument for being the best in the series.

i remember i loved it the first time i played it through and got all the endings. i tried to go back and play it through again a few months ago, though, and I couldn't stand it anymore. D:

anyway, i hope you enjoy your first SFC playthrough as much as i remember enjoying mine, monkey-man. :3

Thanks TBD. I'm enjoying it so far but do think that it'll be one of those games I'll probably never play again once finished.
I was thinking that it would be cool if they made an Advance Wars series in the same mould though.With the same strategy gameplay as AW but when a battle started it could switch to a real time Battalion Wars type battle.I think that it could work really well.Even Fire Emblem would be pretty neat.
