I haven't got much time before I catch a bus to go to town, so this is going to be brief:
Which is better: Sonic Rush or Sonic Rush Adventure? The release of Sonic 4 has got me interested in Sonic and I wanted to pick up one of the DS games but right now I can only afford one. Which should it be?
Thanks!

I played both, and I am really enjoying Sonic Rush Adventure.. You can't go wrong with either, though.

I say Sonic Rush Adventure.

Sonic Rush. Sonic Rush Adventure had those stupid and pointless sailing sequences that only distracted from the actual Sonic gameplay. I liked Sonic Rush's visuals better as well.

Actually, I enjoyed Sonic Rush better. The music was better and more catchy, I liked the levels more, it looked nicer imo, and I liked the Super Sonic ending much better.
I liked the boss battles better in Rush Adventure and it used more 3D visuals, plus it was longer, but the veicle segments get tedius and repeatitive after a while, and the text cutscenes are unbearibly long and boring most times. Plus, the game makes you replay levels dozens of times to collect matter to progress through the story. And Marine is just, so, freakin', annoying.

I'm not saying Rush Adventure is horrible, both games are fantastic, but I'd say get Sonic Rush first, and then get Rush Adventure sometime down the line. Or, you can try to wait a month for Sonic Colors on the DS, since that is going to be similar to the Rush games.

So true.

Sonic Rush was better, and more enjoylbe then Rush Adventure.
But Sonic Colors is coming soon, you should wait for that.
But if you liked Sonic 4, Sonic 3 was even better.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

This. They're two great games that a Sonic fan shouldn't miss. IMO, Rush had some better stages, but Adventures had more and more variety, and it's stages were still pretty good, too.

Rush had better Sonic stages and music but Rush Adventure was ultimately better, mainly for being surprisingly replayable thanks to extra missions and for the only truly great non-Sonicy gameplay in a Sonic game ever.

I preferred the original. The weird pirate-theme in Adventure was... weird.

I like the first. In my opinion, it had a catchier soundtrack, a bigger challenge, and a not-so-long story. My only gripe is how the bosses are presented. The bosses are a lot of fun, but hearing Tails say, "Oh, no! Sonic!" gets annoying after a while. I like both games, but I prefer the first.

I'm back (for the moment)!

@punny guy There was a story in the second one? Anyway the second one is overall better for the vehicles and side games. The first was so easy and typical except for the bonus stages which were just annoying. Plus Adventure has the scariest boss ever CAPTAIN WHISKER you can scream now or later.

Sonic Rush is amazing. Get that. Or something, I dunno. I guess it's your choice... but still get it.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Thanks everyone for your advice!
When I got to town I couldn't find a single copy of Rush Adventure so I bought Sonic Rush ad I love it! I'll probably buy Rush Adventure as well at some point if I see it.

Good choice, NFreak. Yeah Adventure is $20 on Amazon.com, I believe, I think my local Toys R Us still carries it in their bargain bin, as well. Be sure to check 'em both out! .

Both are brilliant. Adventure is slightly better due to its larger content and better boss battles. I only borrowed Sonic Rush but intend to get a copy if it myself. I own the brillaint Rush Adv

If you only borrowed Sonic Rush, then you haven't replayed it to death or played the excellent (and hard) later levels, like a Sonic game should be played.
