Hey,
I'm in portugal at the minute contemplating buying a Blue Nintendo 2DS with pokemon blue and I was wondering if when I got it back to UK would it work with UK 3DS games and other games or not? Any guidence on this would be great! As I'd love to get it but I'm unsure if it'd work If I bought some games for it in the uk or if it's worth just waiting till I got back to England or not /:
Thanks!

The systems are region locked. You can buy the system and buy digital games in your own region, but UK physical games will NOT work.

So If I bought the system could I buy games for it online in the uk then just not hard copies of the games? Do you think it'd be worth waiting till I was back in the uk or? Cause if I could still buy online copies of games on the console that'd be alright for me. @Danksparce

It should say so on the box (in a fine print) whether it is a European model or not. As long as it is a European model, you will be able to play any European/UK/Australian physical media with the 2DS.

"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
