I still prefer the PSP over the DSi, but I think both are outstanding portable game systems with a lot to offer. If I could only keep one, it would be the PSP.
EDIT: But once the DSi Virtual Console begins, that could change in a hurry.

If we're talking about everything then I'll say the Dsi is overall better, siimply because of the sheer amount of quality games on the handheld. But I think this is more of a PSN vs DSiware type thing. Of course the PSN is way better. speaking of Psn, did it start out as slow as the dsiware?
As a machine, the PSP is clunky, uncomfortable, sounds terrible, and has a battery with a life span you could cook an egg to. However, it has some of the best portable games this generation(including Darkstalkers AND Powerstone!).
The DSi hardware wise is decent, but other than a reduced weight and a few interesting downloadable games, it offers nothing of value over the original DS, which you can find for a much cheaper price nowadays. The DSi's catelog is also rather difficult to ignore, however, without a GBA port, the entire GBA library and even several DS games are rendered unplayable, meaning that its library isn't as complete as it could've been.
So basicly once again, they are equal. Both of them are pretty crappy as far as the technicals are concerned, but they both have amazingly good assortment of games, and I honestly have to say that anyone who is without even one of these machines is sorely missing out.

PSN was a lot worse, actually. When I bought my PSP in 2007, I recall that there was only one game worth getting, and it took months before that ever changed.

As a DSi owner, I honestly have to say that the PSP is better, Feature wise. The DSi is more of a fun system, with more games and the ability to "play" with your media. Until Nintendo comes out with more features, like just a simple video player, that's my opinion.
