Which third party company do you believe will be the first to make NFC figures? I can see Capcom doing it with Monster Hunters. Especially with having Megaman already in Smash

One of the Smash related ones definitely.

Non-binary, demiguy, making LPs, still alive

I would say Namco Bandai, since they are one of the few still working with Wii U and doing decent games.

But as has been said, Nintendo should help indies to have their own amiibo. I would get a Shovel Knight, Armillo or Scram Kitty amiibo in a heartbeat.

EDIT: it would be great for multiplatform indies as Nintendo's version would add something extra and exclusive.

Yea, I can definitely see Bandai Namco getting in on it. Maybe throw a few Tales characters in as Amiibos

Of definitely love to see the indies get involved and collaborate.

Just imagine Shovel Knight, Shantae, Commander Video, and many more as collectible figures gets me excited!

I don't see why the memory chips inside the Amiibos can't be expanded, lets say to 50MB. It makes perfect sense to expand the chips to allow an 8-bit game to be stored on the figure that can be used on the Wii U to unlock that game. Once downloaded to the Wii U, the data wold no longer be transferable and you could use the figure as they work now. Seems like an untapped resource to me.
