For me....

1: Fire Emblem: Awakening (the most in depth experience thus far, wonderful set of characters)

2. Super Mario 3D Land (the one game I always find myself replaying every few months despite its age)

3. Kid Icarus: Uprising (a very unique Nintendo experience, more action packed than the usual fair, controls are fine if you aim with A/B/X/Y IMO)

4. Pilotwings Resort (a relaxing and care free game, I love the mellow soundtrack)

5. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D (it's either this or ALBW, but the greater scope of this title and the nostalgia factor make it the winner)

1. Pokémon X - by far the best so far in the series, IMO, they got a lot right with this one being the first 3D main series game. I LOVE the changes that made it easier to breed and train competitive pokes although the altogether post-game content feels lacking

2. Super Mario 3D Land - did everything there is to do in this game, really great amount of content compared to the old Mario Land games

3. A Link Between Worlds - the simple wall-walking mechanic opens up so many great puzzle possibilities and they take advantage of that so well

4. Animal Crossing - I just wish I hadn't found easier ways to make money in this game as it kinda ruined a lot of the fun of it for me and I ended up abandoning it and my poor townsfolk.

5. Mario Kart 7 - power sliding just feels so good in this game

everything's good and it'll be that way forever!

I kinda had the same feelings towards Animal Crossing, there was only so many times you could sit late at night, trying to catch beatles, before it got a bit tiresome.

1) Fire Emblem: Awakening - It's got everything a great turn based strategy should have and more. Also, it's really challenging.

2) Super Mario 3D Land - It's Mario, it looks good, plays good, and it's got tons of worlds to master.

3) Shin Megami Tensei IV - I still haven't beaten it...and I will not use a guide. This game has become a personal test of my true gamer cred.

4) Kid Icarus: Uprising - My favorite NES hero returns and it's a great game...just wish they would add circle pad pro support...

5) Pokemon X/Y - sigh really it has to be on here...right?

I can mention only two titles because I didn't play all the games I have (for example Fire Emblem or Professor Layton are still packed) and I know these two games will be on my list even years later.

#2 - Resident Evil: Revelations
It is the best looking game on 3DS, technically superior to anything available there. After years of suffering we have finally proper Resident Evil game. Fear factor is back and that is very important. Plus the game has plenty of unlockables and addictive Raid Mode. And there is another thing, which is very important for me. This is one of few adult games available on 3DS - a shinning exception among loads of kiddy stuff.

#1 - Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 3D
... or 2012, since these games are basically same. The best football game available on 3DS, faaaaar more superior than handheld version of FIFA and in my opinion it's also superior to console version of PES. The only problem is with licenses (English Premier League + some national teams) and since there is no option file for 3DS you have to do it all by yourself. Graphics are nice, game's difficulty force you to earn success and that is very rewarding. Love it.

1. Super Mario 3D Land- Some may call it a bit ridiculous calling this game number one but I feel like it deserves to be my number one pick. I Love its box art, its level design and its gorgeous aesthetics. And this was even released after the 2011 tsunami so that's a really great accomplishment for Nintendo!

2.Mario and Luigi Dream Team- I love its soundtrack and humor and though it plays very similar to Bowser's Inside Story, Its still a great game and definitely worth it.

3.Fire Emblem Awakening-I love this game! Lots of challenge, Replay value and the characters are awesome!

4.Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask- I love the Layton series and it still feels like one! Its 3D Models may be a bit weak but its story is better than Pandora's Box and the music is great to listen to.

5.Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon- I at first was really disappointed at the game mainly because It didn't feel a lot like the original. But the game's animation, the music, its humor and the gameplay is incredibly done right and just makes my wish come true. Sure the mission levels can drag on and some items are well hidden that they are really difficult to find them all and it made me so tired, but I had a great time with it even though its a game that you can't revisit unlike the original.

After so long...I'm back. Don't ask why

This is really too difficult to narrow down but I'll try.

1. Animal Crossing New Leaf - The definition of value. Already poured almost 200 hours into the game and enjoyed all of it. There is so much content jammed into this game, you can pop this game in 5 months later and have a whole different experience (new animals, new events, season specific bugs/fish). I probably averaged 3-4 hours a day the first month the game came out and I still play it to this day almost weekly. Perfect game to sit back and relax for fun and enjoyment.

2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D - A timeless classic. Game looks gorgeous especially with the 3D effect on. The original on the N64 is my favorite game of all time and this game improves even more on that experience. Absolutely loved having the open inventory on the second screen. If you've never played a Zelda game before, this would be a fantastic place to start. Wonderful, varied areas and enemies. Epic boss battles. Explorable dungeons and tons of weapons to find and use. AND there's a second "master quest" to unlock after you beat the original that mixes up the puzzles for a more challenging experience. This game is amazing.

3. Pokemon X/Y - The first truly next generation Pokemon title since the original Pokemon Blue/Red/Yellow. Ever since playing Pokemon Yellow about 15 years ago, this is the first Pokemon title since to really give me such a rush of excitement and freshness. Everything here is well packaged with a ton of features from past games pumped into the game to make an enjoyable, streamlined experience. The 3D models for every Pokemon past and present are an amazing enhancement for a fan of the series. I love how they brought a focus back to the original Pokemon, highlighting the generation that started it all in a new light with 3D models and upgrade graphics. Ton of value here with so much content to unlock and discover. Best game in the series.

4. Mario Kart 7 - Extremely fun, fantastic online, and one of my favorite games in the series. Customization karts really adds to the depth of online play and the unlockable parts give the game more juice. The online is so well done, I don't think I've had a better online experience on the 3DS. Love the course designs and the new air and water mechanics really push the series forward. Must have for the multiplayer alone.

5. Paper Mario: Sticker Star - Truly an under-appreciated gem. Funny as hell. Game made me crack up multiple times throughout my playthrough. Levels and worlds are varied and look outstanding, and the boss battles are unique and challenging. The music is fantastic, the best soundtrack I've heard on the 3DS thus far. There's also a ton of things to collect and discover (hint: Luigi) which extend the life of the game even more.

Honorable mentions:

Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Super Mario 3D Land
Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate
Fire Emblem: Awakening
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Kirby Triple Deluxe.

1) Fire Emblem: Awakening (Probably in my top 5 games of all time. Great characters, story, and gameplay. The perma-death mechanic is handled really well and actually means that your own game becomes personal).
2) The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (A really great Zelda game, and definitely one of my top favourites of the franchise. It was nice to get a 3DS Zelda game that wasn't badly aged and over-rated cough Ocarina of Time cough).
3) Super Mario 3D Land (Surprisingly a really enjoyable Mario Platformer. It has a great amount of content. It's missing multiplayer - but I'd never choose New Super Mario Bros. 2 over this).
4) Animal Crossing: New Leaf (Though I've realised I had much less fun with this than I did with the first time I played Animal Crossing (Wild World) I enjoyed my time with it).
5) Mario Kart 7 (Inferior to the DS version, but it's still a great game).

1) Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward - An incredibly compelling story that only could have been told in a video game. Absolutely mind-bending and mesmerizing. It's addicting right until the very end.

2) Fire Emblem: Awakening - In my opinion, the best SRPG ever made. The relationship mechanics are what really give it life. It makes permadeath matter all the more, and the game itself has a flow that works really well. It's also quite replayable.

3) Kid Icarus: Uprising - I haven't played anything that's quite like Uprising, to be honest. It's wonderfully unique, and a great deal of fun. The team that made it nailed the feel of the stylus controls, and there is an unbelievable amount of content in it. It also happens to handle the way difficulty works in a way better than any other game I've played.

4) Resident Evil: Revelations - Those production values! It's looks fantastic, sounds fantastic, and plays fantastic. I love how replayable the game can get if you want it to. I enjoy the gunplay, and it does a good job of giving you some scares, too.

5) Theatrythm: Final Fantasy - It's a fantastic love letter to Final Fantasy, and it just so happens to be an excellent music game as well (due it part to how Final Fantasy is incredibly consistent when it comes to delivering quality music). I can't wait for the sequel!

I would have put Dead or Alive: Dimensions on this list, but the Vita version of 5 has basically made that game pointless to me. It's still fun, but it's hard to go back to it.

My top 5 would be:
Fire Emblem Awakening: I like the characters and the fact that I can unlock almost all of the conversations in one play through. I enjoyed the teaming up aspect. The cut scenes were gorgeous. It has a lot of replay value. There are somethings that I wished they would have kept from the older games though. Like light magic.

Pokemon X&Y: I had fun throughout the game. I really liked the online trading and battling. I even got my brother to pick up Y.

Rune Factory 4: I bought this game just because it was supposed to be a RPG Harvest Moon but I didn't think that I would like it this much. I liked the story and the game play. I really like the mix of RPG and Harvest Moon. The characters were all likable and it is fun to train monsters.

Kid Icarus: Uprising: I have never played a Kid Icarus game before until this came out. I didn't have many issues with the controls like some people, I thought they worked just fine. The game was lighthearted and fun. I loved the banter between all the characters.

Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate: I had to pick this game because I thought the transfer program between the 3DS and the Wii U was an awesome idea. I used it a lot when the game first came out. IMO, MH3U's controls work far better on the 3DS than any of the PSP monster hunter games.

Honorable mentions: PW:AA Dual Destinies, Rhythm Thief, LoZ:OOT, Unchained Blades and Harvest Moon: A New Beginning.

Yeah but they are nearly all in the same genre. (Which is the new walk a bit cutscene - walk a bit cutscene type of JRPG).

5: Pilotwings

5. Dead or Alive: Dimensions - This is a game I just keep coming back to time & time again. While SSFIV3D is fun too, this game just happens to trump it in every aspect, IMO, other than roster size (but with 26 characters, it certainly isn't a slouch). It's trophy/figurine collectables system is better, it's 3D interactive battlefields make better use of the stereoscopic 3D, it actually has a story mode (a flawed one I admit, but SSFIV3D doesn't even have one at all), it has better online (opponents can't spam cheap touch screen combos like in SSFIV3D), and hey, it has a Metroid arena, which is kinda awesome.

4. Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance - Admittedly, I wasn't a big fan of the new worlds added (other than Country of Musketeers), and while I would have preferred having Donald & Goofy as your party members, I found the Dream Eater partner system to be quite rewarding & diverse, it had a few good bosses, and the final world was total nonstop awesome for fans of the series. Looked good graphically, too.

3. Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D - Truely a gaming masterpiece. Lush visuals, fun stealth gameplay, interesting characters, and a roster of some of the most insanely awesome & unique bosses in gaming (I seriously LOVE this game's bosses).

2. Fire Emblem: Awakening - Absolutely gorgeous visuals, a large diverse cast of likeable characters (I love the relationship building aspect), and absolutely addicting SRPG gameplay. The only reason it's not number 1 is because I happen to personally prefer the style of a traditional JRPG just a tad bit more.

1. Tales of the Abyss - It may not push the system graphically, nor does it use the 3D that well, but it has become one of my favorite RPGs of all time. It's game world is large & colorful, the story has both serious & more relaxed moments, the battle system is fun, the characters are interesting (Luke's transformation from selfish rich kid to selfless hero is nice), and it takes about 50 hours just to complete 1 playthrough (there's also tons of side stuff to do too though, and there's good incentive to play a second run). More than that though, I just love the classic setup of a ragtag group of friends (with a bit of romance) out on a quest to save the world, and with the skits that pop up every few minutes, this game captures that essence better than any other RPG I've played.

Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)

These are all the 3DS games I have so far, from best to worst.

1) Luigi's Mansion & Project X Zone - Nice lengthy gameplay / story. Very replayable. Very enjoyable.

2) Mario Kart 7 - Moderate Online Play. Also replayable. Enjoyable to some extent

3) Mario Golf: World Tour - Recently purchased. Might be moderately replayable, but very addictive.

4) Super Mario 3D Land - Somewhat lengthy. Replayable, but slightly repetitive.

5) Pokemon Rumble Blast & Blazblue Continuum Shift II - Extremely reliant on repetitive gameplay. No online play for the 2nd game. Can lag a lot. Mediocre 3D depth. Gets boring quickly. Little-to-no replayability.

I currently don't have any other 'retail' favorites, but that's because i've been missing out on quite a few heavy hitters. I was surprised to find out how awesome Donkey Kong 94' and Gargoyles Quest were though, those two were just fantastic!

Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon(Tedious with a total lack of challenge, i wish it would of been 1 giant mansion instead) and StarFox 64 didn't quite do it for me, meanwhile SFIV, Monkey Ball 3D, Steel Diver and Nintendog's were all pretty darn average. And don't get me started on RE: Revelations....It was a giant mixed bag of 'pretty' good and mindless episodic shooter filler to please non-survival horror fans...Also, looking back....Mutant Mudds and Mighty switch force weren't that great. Same deal with Pushmo and Sakura Samurai.

Anyways, I NEED to experience Kid Icarus; Uprising, Zelda OOT 3D, Zelda A Link Between Worlds, Kirby's Tripple Deluxe, NSMB.2, Rythem Thief, Pacman Galaxy & Dimensions, DKC Returns 3D, ect ect.

I've been too busy plugging away on my Wii(Plus VC), need to spice things up a bit and dip back into the 3DS for a change.
I used it everyday back when SwapNote was active, now that it's been gimped i barely touch the thing.

Are you kidding me @waveboy ? Revelations was hailed by fans as the return to the series truest roots as opposed to the crap of RE6 etc. I think you are the first person iv'e heard speak of revelations that way iv'e been a fan since the first on PS1 and the subsequent re releases RE2 etc and really revelations is the first RE in awhile that didn't utterly suck. I'm really sort of shocked, were you a fan of the original series? Iv'e just never met anyone who liked the old RE games who didn't think revelations was the best one in awhile since the Crap fest of 5 and 6. In fact that was one of the most mentioned comments in reviews both critic AND user was it was the first return to a real resident evil style game in quite some time.

Are you sure you are not thinking of Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D?
