Ive heard Nintendo products are quite durable. I bought a New 3DS not long ago and was wondering if playing it for too many hours during a day (for me 4-5 hours tops) would result in the N3DS itself to not last as long? What has your experience been like & any tips, even?
Playing it is fine, I suppose you could wear the buttons out if you're too hard with it. The only real concern would be the game save file on the cartridge as they can be saved thousands of time before it can't be over written anymore but that's playing the game over and over again for years.
Really not a legitimate worry. Nintendo stuff is well made. It'd probably be about 10 years of normal use before it has problems. Unless you're abnormally using it!
Don't be afraid of enjoying something that you own! However, it's not true what some fans say about Nintendo consoles being perfectly made. My Wii showed green pixels after a while and my Wii Balance Board died. Nintendo replaced them because they were under guarantee. Also, my original black 3DS showed very weird colours on the top screen, I also got a replacement. And NO, I don't play thaaat much! My oldest consoles are the ones that never needed a replacement: SNES, N64 and GameCube. Of course, my Wii U and 3DS XL are still fine, but they are quite new.
I really don't like the navigation bar of Nintendo Life continuously reappearing while browsing!!

Playing too much wouldn't be a problem, that said the standard N3DS is considerably more fragile than the N3DS XL. One small accidental drop and it'll stop working just like with the standard 3DS but both XL versions can withstand more damage.

My regular 3DS actually met various kinds of floors and still works perfectly.
