If you are in the eShop, go to demos and then put SD Card out and you will hear no sound, and then return to home of eShop and you will hear the old song of the eShop.

Take out the SD card while the system is still on? Can't that corrupt it?

Nope, you can restart the system and everything's back

Don't be so sure about that. There's a reason Nintendo constantly stresses to NOT remove the SD Card while the system is running.
So yes, there is the risk of the files on the SD Card becoming corrupted, and this might even result in the loss of save data for download titles. Proceed with caution.

...Or just turn off the system, remove the SD card, turn it back on, then go into the eShop, and same thing, the original music plays. Much safer, although it renders the eShop somewhat useless as you can't make purchases. (Or at least you can't download anything) So I guess if you really want to hear the old music...
