Topic: Transferring 3DS data between SD cards

I have two SD cards for my 3DS: an 8GB one and a 32GB one. At the moment they have different games installed on each one so I just swap between the two, but I want to transfer the data from the 8GB card to the 32GB one (I should have done it when I first got the latter, but I didn't). I copied the data from the 8GB card to my computer, then from there to the 32GB card, but it didn't show up when I turned the 3DS on. I then tried formatting the card and copying everything back onto it, but the data from the 8GB card still isn't appearing on my 3DS. (The games that were originally on the 32GB card are still there though.) Does anyone have any idea what I've done wrong and how I can successfully transfer the data?

I don't think you can combine, just completely replace.

You could try finding and copying the games themselves though. Find the game data and copy that to the game data folder in the big card and see if that works.

Just remember to back everything up so you can revert in case anything goes wrong.

@Delibheel Ah that's a shame. I'm looking at the 3DS data on my computer but none of the files have very descriptive names so it's not easy to tell which ones are the actual games. Do you know what file names I should be looking for?

If this doesn't work I'll just go back to swapping between the two cards, but when I looked up how to transfer data between SD cards I saw that Nintendo's website says not to swap between multiple SD cards on a single 3DS. Is that actually likely to cause any problems? I haven't had an issue with doing it before.

I can't check right now, bit I think it's a folder named something like app data in the 3DS folder or something to that effect.

Each game has its own folder, and it's not marked by game name, they have long codenames.

Again, don't forget to back up the entire 32gb SD card before trying this.

Alright, it could take a while to find all the individual games so I won't do it just yet, but thanks for the advice.
