Okay, I heard that Tekken 3D lacks an arcade or story mode. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I may cancel my pre-order and get SSFIV instead if this is the case.

I can confirm this. It has the movie though. So that's kind of like Story mode. If you're going to get SSFlV instead just remember...this game has King....SF does not..

Movie =|= Story Mode, therefore, there is no reason for me to buy Tekken. Guess I'll get SSFIV instead.

Dang, one less person to play online with. Well I have street fighter also. It was fun for a while then I got bored of it. I'm more of a Tekken fan, so maybe that's why. Have fun.
Well, see, I'm the type of person who likes to play video games by themselves, so a game that FORCES me to play with others isn't exactly a selling point.

I was still undecided on this game. At the moment I don't have an Internet connection that'll allow me to play online most of the time, so if this is the case then I think I've just made up my mind.
It sounds like they're trying to cut a bit of a corner with this whole movie and game all in one business. Seems like the game might lack content, but they're using the fact that it also contains a movie as a selling point, and are hoping people don't really think about the lack of content because of it. I could be wrong, but that's what it sounds like to me.
There's a training mode and a free play mode (the latter of which I played a crap-ton in DOA:D, so I'll probably get it in the future). EDIT: There's also a special survival mode where you face against 40 coms with one life bar.

SSFIV on the 3DS doesn't play as well, and you'll end up breaking your 3DS over it. Your better off waiting for Tekken vs. StreetFighter, you'll thanks yourself later for it.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I like Soul Caliber the best, but that game might not come to the 3DS. I never got into Tekken, Virtua Fighter, or DoA.
In fact, the only fighting games I really like (besides Soul Caliber and Mortal Kombat) are the ones where you can spam infinite combos, just because they're so flashy and fun to look at (Marvel vs Capcom).
Sorry i haven't read all posts but there is also a card mode were you unlock 700 cards and you use streetpass to exchange and swap cards with other people you walk past:) Its sad there's no story mode i really use to enjoy seening all the fmv at end of the fights:(
If we knew how small we were are problems wouldn't seem so BIG!
Nope, but has decent other modes. Would've prefered arcade and story modes instead of 3D movie tbh (or have the movie as DLC). Still getting decent early reviews from reliables
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."
Can confirm there is no Story mode but there is a single-player mode called Quick Battle that's basically an Arcade mode: you have to defeat ten opponents, it's got continues and if you win then you see the credits. One thing that's neat is as you go through the battles you can "rank up" from Beginner to 10th Kyu and upward. There's also as someone said a Special Survival mode that lets you earn card points and cards when you defeat 5, 10, 20 or 40 opponents.
Hmm... That Quick Battle thing sounds good. I'd still love a Story Mode, but something had to get cut in favor of the movie. I'd still rather pay more to get a game with two carts (one for the game, one for the movie) and get more out of the game itself, but what can you do?
Thanks, James.

I was set on pre-ordering this, now not so sure, I still haven't finished Blaz Blue CSII and I still have DOAD, so I might wait for a price drop on this as much as I love Tekken. I would rather hold my coin for MGS and BitTrip Saga, plus Rayman Origins which all hit the UK next month.
Only games these days I buy day one are one's I simply cannot miss or game's I think will have a low print run. Makes me so glad I pre-orderd Tales of the Abyss as my friend is desperate for a copy but every online retailer seems to be sold out.
