Hey, whenever I kill someone or die myself in smash, my game freezes, turns off, and I am prompted that the console will restart itself.

Having posted a similar post to reddit, I will copy/paste my post here:

Hey, I have tried posting this in the 3DS sub but have gotten near enough zero response, so I thought I'd ask you guys.

I recently bought a New 3DS XL because it was cheap, bought smash bros. for it, played a bit, it worked fine. Then I did the latest system update, which then prompted me to update the game itself as well when I tried to start it.

After updating the game, I thought I'd try the training mode, and when I fell off the stage, the game froze, then returned to the console's home screen, prompting me an error occured and the console will now restart. The game is a physical cartridge, not a digital edition.

This bug happens every time a character falls off, with the exception of:
If it ends the game
If it is in All-Star mode
If it is Luma (hey, still counts as a character to me)

What I have tried:
Formatting through the console
Formatting the SD card using the recommended tool
Getting a new SD card (SanDisk Ultra 8GB microSDHC)

I also plan on trying to get a replacement for the game cartridge.

Thanks a lot for any and all help; if the problem can't be solved, a way to contact Nintendo would be most welcome.

New. The console too, if you're wondering.

If both are new, they are still subject to warranty. I'd contact Nintendo about this.

I have just filled in a contact form and am now awaiting for a reply. Some guy on smashladder.com told me that I might be able to get a new 3DS and points for the game through that.
