I was 8 hours in Xenoblade Chronicles 3D when I decided to drive away from work with my 3DS on the roof of my car.... so, I had to buy a new one. Nintendo informed me that it would take seven business days to transfer my game data to the new 3DS, which is completely insane.
Anyway, I found a .SAV file online that’s exactly where I was in XC3D and figured that after this whole mess if I can utilize this save file I could at least skip the more mundane parts of the first 8 hours.
I’ve looked online and have a hard time understanding some of the answers. Is using someone else’s save an easy, viable option? Is it as simple as doing a save transfer or do I need homebrew stuff?
Just had the strangest customer service experience with Nintendo. I didn’t trust the first rep I spoke to so I called back, turns out he got my email messed up (trust your instincts.) The second rep I talked to was a really cool dude and we talked Nintendo while he was fixing all the information for me. He told me he felt my pain about having to wait so long, with Monday’s holiday he said I might not have the transfer done until Oct. 16th.
I got the confirmation email that my transfer was done twenty minutes after I got off the phone...
I’m now downloading all my games to my new 3DS. Bizarre.
Yep, I felt like he was actually performing the transfer while we were talking but then he kept telling me there wasn’t much he could do to expedite the process...
Maybe they have to give you the seven day expectation in case something doesn’t look right on their end? He really stressed to me how backed up they are with the launch of Switch Online. I’m happy, just thought it was odd.
