@pixelman I see your point there. I was thinking DQ, but now I've got a bit of hope for FF. If Square put that game on 3DS, I know it would sell.

Currently Playing:
Xbox 360: Arkham City, MW3, Gears 3, UMV3, Battlefield 3
PS3: inFAMOUS 2, LBP 2. Rachet & Clank: All 4 One, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3
Xperia Play: Crash Bandicoot
iOS: Sonic CD, Infinity Blade, Arkham City Lockdown, Mega Man X, Chrono Trigger

we all forgeting that DQ IX was on DS too. its probably DQ. Hasn't been a FF remake on the DS, why would they start on 3DS. It would be awesome but honestly i would prefer DQ anyday.

Either one is fine with me and an instant purchase. FFVII certainly needs a remake, because that game looks effing ugly today.

"creamsugar creamsugar
It’s a remix version of the 7th game of a famous (J)RPG series, and will sell half year later of a spin-off game of the series."

If i'm understanding this correctly, it's saying that the remake will release six months after a spin off of the same series. And I wonder which is the only of the two to have a spin off being released on the 3DS soon...Hint; it's not Dragon Quest!

Beat you pikky, sorry.

...then this would suggest FF7 will be coming out half a year after Theatrhythm releases, right? Also, seven months after February (Theatrhythm's release month) is September, which is when Nintendo does their press conference before TGS. Cue "dropping a megaton."

@shingi_70: Wouldn't lifted PSP graphics fit better on a 3DS than a Vita? :3 And don't forget that Monster Hunter was on Sony for forever, but all of the sudden we've got two MH games coming for the 3DS, with not a one in sight for Vita. Square could do the same thing.

Everyone here seems pretty excited to see the honeybee in 3D. All in all, FF7 was a better PSX game than DQ7. A DQ7 remake would have to be a lot better than the original. But either game really could have great new possibilities on the 3DS.

...in my pants.

Well it is a first generation PS1 game.

@Pixelman

Well assuming that the Final Fantasy X remake for Vita/PS3 is from the ground up than they could have picked upand did VII instead.

Im calling that when VII gets a remake its going to be all of the games in that Saga remade and bundled in one to be played in a series.

Also next year is the 15th anniversary of Final Fantasy VII

Given some of the reasons you guys are giving, I wouldn't be surprised if they did do a FF7 remake. But why would Square put it on 3DS and not Vita? I mean, I want it on 3DS, but I'm just thinking through their standpoint.

There is also Dragon quest heroes: rocket slime 3 but I hope that, that isn't the spin-off they're referring to because of how much I dislike the Dragon quest series as I've already said.

Square-enix seems to be getting on better footing with Nintendo.

I'd much rather 5 and 6 remade though.

@shingi_70 I guess they have. It just seems when Nintendo systems get FFs, it's always pre-VII. I really want to play that one, but it's probably going to DQ, because that series is pretty much Nintendo-exclusive these days. I guess once I get a PS3 I could just download it to play it, but I watched a video and the graphics have aged horribly, even worse then other 64-bit era games. So I'm hoping for a remake.

Could get a cheap PSP and a cheap memory stick and buy the games off of PSN for cheap.

I'm placing my money on Dragon quest because well its Nintendo's big Third Party RPG. (they have a dsiware game for god's sake).

Yeah, but the X fanboys would rage if they decided to just do something else. That's not really in the realm of probability. :3

But yeah, FF7's 15th anniversary next year? Well well, everything's lining up nicely isn't it? This is either a very carefully planned and well-thought out hoax or... it's legit!

DQVII is the only one I haven't played, so hopefully that one finds a release at some point.

I've also barely played FFVII, so I'll be happy with either.

There's Dragon Quest spinoffs on the 3DS.

I don't see Final Fantasy VII being remade for a Nintendo console. Sony and Square Enix haven't exactly had a falling out, and you can be sure they would if that happened.
