I need to buy this game. It looks fun and on top of that I have been waiting for it to be released on a Nintendo system for years. Now that it has been released on the 3DS I choose this platform to buy it on.

The original was the Wiiware version.

@unrandomsam Thanks for the info I found out about it after i posted it on here. Its weird but well, not a game breaker by any means.
But i have a question to the people who have already played the game a bit longer than i have (i literally started the game up on my Wii back then, played for 10 minutes and totally forgot about it O.o ):
Is there any way of knowing which mini missions (skulls on the map) i have already cleared other than having to check my records in the menu ?

Edit:
Okay, that does it. I really HATE this game.
I came to a wall with scrambled text on it that looked like the old Game Genie interface. After clicking on it, it gives you a cheat code that you can enter. Well, i was curious and tried it out. It was a cheat to immediatly get rid of the cops, but after entering the code, the game wont save anymore.
A warning would have been nice, something in the lines of "are you sure you want to enable this cheat ? It turns of the safe function until you restart the game"
After reading that, i went into the menu and quit to the main menu, loaded up my game again and continued playing. Well, guess what. The game STILL wont safe...even AFTER reloading from a safe file. You need to completely exit out of the game for it to safe again ! I lost a LOT of progress since i thought exiting to the main menu would be enough for the game to turn off the cheats again.
The game is frustrating enough as it is, and now stuff like that.
I bought it back on the Wii eShop and regret not playing it a bit further, because i bought it again under the premise of "definite version, portable" yadda yadda. This is possibly the fist and only purchase ive regretted in ages...

He is intending to keep updating the 3DS version with patches. Suppose it depends whether it is by design or not that happens.

When you activate a cheat, it very clearly tells you that saving is disabled until the game is restarted.
I do agree that it is annoying, though.

Commandervide0

Earlier this week I managed to unlock commandervideo and meat boy. I used 400-450 credits for the bit trip one, while SMB took 5. I found Bit trip retro city to be even harder than the real bit trip runner.
I also completed the story last week.

The update was out in Europe yesterday I believe (That's when I downloaded it anyway!). I've had a play with the jukebox which is very nice, but not had a go with any other new features. Anyone get it in the US yet?

I just checked (at 8am) and it's still not available yet Hopefully it will be up after today's downloads are available. Been waiting for this update since it was announced.

  • EDIT: The update is now available, but you need to go to Your Downloads to update.

So after trying the newest update it's really good, however when it comes to the second pad support, playing with the nub on the N3DS don't make it feel good, probably better with the CPP since it's bigger and not stiff..

So I bought this game over a year ago, on an eshop sale, and I wasn't terribly impressed with it.
But I started playing it again, after its exposure in the Humble Bundle, and its cheesy charms have started to win me over. This is a pretty good open world game, once you get the feel for it.
Am I missing out on anything by not playing this on a New 3DS, though?

I'm surprised I'm enjoying this. I skipped it several times and ignored it completely after the dev bashed the WiiU saying they dont need to port the Wii version to the weak lame system lol They went extra for no reason, also I usually don't like games where 85%+ of it is just a bunch of references to other things but it's been amusing so far mostly.
I'm not too far in the story (I think), but I hope I get to use that Donkey Kong "car" again lol...

I am getting tried of everything pandering to my demographic (and older's) nostalgia, but this game does it well, in my opinion.
Cool for people our age and older, but it's a shame it'll be lost on younger people.

I totally agree. I can't imagine anyone born after the mid 90's who hasn't gotten into old pop culture would understand half of whats being referenced. Also totally agree that I'm exhausted by the nostalgia in my face. I dread that we're probably going to have to relive the 00's here soon.
