Sorry for the title, but I need help ASAP. I plugged in my 8 GB SD card to move the data to my backup folder on my mac, but it's not reading the card on my mac... It's not showing up as something to eject or anything, and I don't know what to do! HELP! I DON'T WANNA LOSE MY DATA
Where's this data from? Is eShop games? Photos off a camera?
Try putting the card back where you put the stuff on it – that should help identify whether the data's gone, or just not being read.
Everything on my 3DS, Retail games and all. I put it in a vivitar SD card reader and it didn't show up on my desktop. Now I'm scared to remove it as I don't want it to corrupt...

If the SD card's not doing anything, then it won't corrupt, but you can't be sure that it's not doing anything behind the scenes. I believe that it will be fine, but I wouldn't take my word for it. Just try to identify where the fault is – the data, the card, the reader or the mac.
Should I power off my mac and try again? I need to remove it to put it back in but I'm scared...

A nice gent helped me when I needed to move mine without an sd card slot on my computer, the solution he presented was a good one, get a USB to SD card drive, and the computer will read it as a USB(you can still perform the transfer the same way). :3

My mac has no SD card drive, that's why I use vivtars
