2. Kirby
3. NSMB2
4. My bum

I have a feeling future lists will be very similar to ours. How about we rank all 2D platformers on the system?

Don't forget all the eshop titles such as mighty switch force, gunman clive, and mutant mudds.

Sub seems to be talking specifically about Nintendo's 2D platformers. I don't think Nintendo has published a 2D platformer on eShop yet?

Anyways, I hate Nintendo's 2D platformers most of the time anyways. I got DKCR3D, and that's the only one I feel is worth owning.

Oh, just Nintendo platformers, I've only got one then: New Super Mario Brothers 2. Compared to other parties, I'd say it's second to only Mutant Mudds of the few 2D platformers I've played on the system. I have yet to purchase Kirby Triple Deluxe, though I can see it being the best yet.

I still gotta get Yoshi's Island. Even though it's made by artoon, I think I'll probably like it the best.
Kirby looks great too, but Kirby games for me are a hit or miss
Super Mario 2 looks fun, but I'm not a big "New" fan.

After commenting in this thread, I realize I need to play more platformers. Platformers and puzzles are the only 2 genres I don't really play, but some of the 3ds platform games look good enough for someone who's not even a fan of the genre.

The 3DS Platform Games are not very good overall. Basically all of them are based on old Wii technology at 30fps. (With all the difficulty removed - Not sure about DKCR 3D because the Wii version I think was as close as I am likely to get to a perfect game).

The Wii has loads of good 2D Platformers as does the DS and GBA. The Wii U ones don't look to be objectively worse like the 3DS ones.

If Yumi's Odd Odyssey is counted that is the best.

If we're adding third party games, Steamworld Dig and Cave Story (eshop version) definitely deserve the top spots. Upcoming Shantae looks good too, save for the horrendous character portraits

WORST PLATFORMER: Rayman Legends (This IS on 3DS right? I mean.....it's on every other current platform!)

Super Mario 3D Land isn't a 2D platformer.

Only one is Nintendo, but I don't care, because I thought NSMB2 sucked, and I haven't played any of their other 2D Platformers for the 3DS.

I haven't played the new Kirby, but yes, all of the 2-D Nintendo published games are awful.

Then again, 90% of the games I've played on the 3DS were disappointing.

No surprise since handheld gaming isn't for me.

  3. VVVVVV
  4. DKCR3D
