Topic: Puzzle and Dragons Z/Super Mario Edition

I don't know how anyone can get this excited over a match 3 game, but also it doesn't feel as though it deserves any hate.

....This excited? People are just saying they're getting it and/or ready to play it. We're not jumping up and down all over the place and screaming "I can't wait!!!" or anything. >.>

There's multiple people in this thread who have used the specific words "I can't wait" about this game.

so what? there's nothing wrong with being excited about a game. I love Match Three games and I like the idea of this game.

And unlike other puzzle games, this is also an RPG-like puzzle game, one that never made it outside of Japan until now, either.

Obviously you've never played Puzzle & Dragons. It's a fun game already on phones and tablets, and while it's free there, the energy limit does become a problem as you get further in, and knowing that won't be in this game, plus supposedly more content to justify the price, plus a Mario-themed version all for $30 just sounds too tempting to pass up if you ask me.

While I wouldn't call it Tetris I will say I was a bit disappointed in the demo. Sure it was fun for a bit but I can see it getting old fast. I'm hoping it's just because it's a demo.

The puzzling is fun enough but not the point of the gameplay in actuality. It's simply a fun alternative method to some mundane selection box like you would see in a generic RPG. Folks who ignore the progression and levelling elements of this game are missing the whole point IMO

Wow... That demo was kinda boring.

I don't think that this game was actually a first party title, so it wasn't made directly by nintendo, I think it's more of a DLC Stand Alone (similar to undead nightmare, or Blood Dragon).

But I do agree with you, this demo isn't that great.

I am just wondering, the people saying the demo is bad, have you played a Puzzle & Dragon game before? Or even a game that used the same mechanic?

...Um, Puzzle and Dragons is a third party game...and, again...RPG. You're capturing monsters and leveling up by defeating other monsters via puzzles. It involves a story and all that, the Mario thing is just a bonus game.

My only concern is the demo doesn't do anything good to show off the game just the puzzle aspects.

Personally I'm on the "can't wait" wagon, althought I admit the demo deserve the meme -you're doing it wrong- as it seem setted for underline alot the Match3 part and barely gives hints about the other core elements of the P&D's serie.

This is a Match3 game where the player must recruit, train and evolve many monsters, need to carefully plan his/her team by choosing the party members with the right elements, stats and abilities and... gee... in my opinion it's pretty much the perfect time-waister for not-casual gamers XD

Demos are always like that, lol...just look at Monster Hunter's. xD

...Why, because of online?...They're basically all the same, fight two monsters with a 15 minute time limit.

I've played the OG Puzzles and Dragons every day since I got it so I'm really looking forward to this. The only issue with my android phone version is the f2p model which really holds free riders back (I've played over 100 days in a row and still don't even have enough stamina to do the mystical challenges) and this game fixes that problem.

As for the haters, I really don't know what you expected. All you had to do was watch a little footage or download the OG game to know what you were getting into.
