The concept intrigues me (even more now that it's Mario based) and doesn't include a DLC/pay to play mechanism. As I like all types of puzzle games this is likely to be an instant buy for me.
I had a quick go of the demo this morning, I had no idea what was going during the battles.
Same here.
It is rather confusing - after playing shuffle - that the tiles don't get swapped, but pushed away instead.
Was pretty confused by the long and complex tutorial texts in the beginning. They shouldn't pour all this information over the player at once in my opinion.
But I like RPGs and I like puzzles, so I'm probably getting it anyways.
Never want to come down, never want to put my feet back down on the ground.
Same here. I'm looking forward to the demo for this game in NA. I love puzzle games because you can easily play them for 5 minutes or 2 hours; and they easily compliment more complex games as a change of pace. I'm currently enjoying Pokemon Shuffle for this same reason.

Hopefully the full game has a better tutorial. The tablet version has a quick 4 stage tutorial, then slowly doles out the rest of the info as it comes up once it's got the basics out of the way.
The demo was too short. I skipped tutorials because I knew pretty much how it works from trailers. Learned a couple of things I didn't know on the way, though. I almost died because I wasn't expecting Buzzy Beetle's to almost one shot me in such an early level and I also made an awesome combo just to notice that I ended up doing 0 damage to the Buzzy Beetle (I guess it was defending or something).
It's its, not it's.

Im excited to play this for sure. Not sure which one I'll play first so I'll pay attention to the reviews. I kinda want to start with the regular version first but I'm afraid if I do I'll never get to the Mario edition one. I keep buying games I have no time for and end up not really playing any but one or maybe 2. Haven't really touched Majora's, Etrian Mystery Dungeon, or Xenoblade because of MH4U but at least I'm a decent ways through Steam!

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
Eh, I've seen gameplay of SMB edition through -shudder- Polygon's channel (ugh, not even Nick can make me stand anything associated with that site).
It looks okay, reuses a lot from NSMB themes and assests though. Like, 95% of the game's assets (music and everything) are based off the NSMB series. Not a bad thing, just a heads up.
The video only really showed World 1, but from I saw it plays exactly how you would expect mobile game to play, minus the micro-transactions and with Mario slapped on it. Looks meh, I need more convincing before paying full price tbh.
Anyone got a hat I can eat? Because now I'm totally hooked on this series. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did, but now I'm definitely looking forward to these games.
