Topic: Pushmo/Pullblox Contest v2 - Voting: Buildings

OK, I had some time today to put together this pushmo of, you guessed it, Pushmo!

Not the best puzzle ever, but I'm satisfied with it. It plays well enough,that is. By the way, that wierd looking glob in the upper center area is supposed to be Mallo. It is based on the Pushmo logo.

I'm not that proud of this one, I think it looks pretty awkward. It's the purple bomb from Mighty Switch Force!

Ok, I can't get over how awkward this one looks. I think it solves pretty well though, so that makes up for it, right?

So here's a silly choice of subject: the puppy from Shantae: Risky's Revenge. I ended up going with this because it's less complex than other sprites from that game. I'm not sure if that makes it a better puzzle, or if I'm just lazy...

I know, I know, Pushmo has already been done, but this one's different. And how could I resist? This little red guy always puts a smile on my face. Enjoy.

On a side note, I'm a little disappointed with the amount of characters you can name them with. I wanted to go with something a little creepy, like 'Oh Papa Blox, I've got a wedgie' or 'Where did the rest of my clothes go?! Papa Blox! I know it was you!' or 'Is it just me or does it taste like blue in here?' or something borderline disturbing, 'I just came from Wedgies 'r Us, and boy let me tell ya, it feels like somethin' just tore right through my [butt]'.

Okay! It was nice to see entries come in quicker this time. It was also nice to see a last day entry to justify my not ending this theme early.

Another contest full of great entries. For me, it came down to Zyrac's puppy and WhiteKnuckle's "I got a wedgie." Both are great, but I think I'll have to go with Zyrac's (its an adorable widdle puppy dog!).

I'm gonna vote Zyrac's too. I haven't had much luck with more complicated sprites, so that one looked especially well done for me!

I was considering entering this contest with my pushmo of a power glove, but I think I'll pass.

@Zyrac you could do bosses from the NES or SNES era?

So, here's what I got. The controller doesn't look very pretty, but I don't think I could draw it much better without making it bigger, which I think would hurt the gameplay.

Hello! So this Pullblox is just a little bit ridiculously reliant on ladders and switches, and there's some serious lag spikes at the beginning (at least for my 3ds). It's Game and Watch Octopus! I had a hard time with this round's theme since I find it much easier to work off sprites rather than real images, but I think it turned out not-that-bad. Also, to second Happy_Mask, I would think that NES/SNES bosses is a great idea.

(It's a little sad that I'm noticing a theme in my entries, which is a huge amount of ladders and large blocks of colour without much purpose)

Sorry it took so long, but my mind has been devoid of ideas for a pushmo for this theme. I finally got one finished though so without further ado, here is my 3DS XL.

Also, for a theme suggestion, how about a licensed video games theme. We could make entries based on video games based on characters from other media (EXample: a Batman sprite from one of the SNES Batman games).

I'm not surprised this one went slow, as it was a fairly difficult theme. Anyway, here are the entries:

Yeah, the game and watch one was really fun to climb, and the octopus still looked good even when crammed into such a small space.

I hope this thread doesn't loose steam. I'm loving all the great Pushmo levels...
