Topic: Price of physical eShop Games?

Hey there,

I wanted to pick up Pokémon Gold and Silver retails editions but here in Germany each costs around EUR 70.

Since it just a packaging with no more in it then a code to download the games I would like to know if this is normal for Nintendo or if it is just some kind of preorder price which will change?

Getting my first 3DS with the new Metroid game so I'm not up to date with Nintendo stuff.

@zyn They should be around €9.99 when they come out.

@Octane You mean the virtual games right? I'm speaking about their retail versions they are getting.

I've seen them for 13 euros at a Dutch retailer. The boxed versions. Shouldn't be much more I'd say, considering it's only a download code in an empty box.

@zyn Yeah, I can't imagine they will be a lot more expensive than the digital option. They're probably going to be the same price, it's just a code in a paper box after all.

@Paperboy @Octane yeah exactly what I was thinking when I first saw that listing. I would be fine if it would be EUR 15 but not seven times the price.

Nice to see then that it is only some kind of placeholder price there. Thank you guys for clarification.
