Seriously, it's like they just threw it in the last second. All it does is give you Pokemiles? Really? I've never even spent them. There are so many missed opportunities! They could have made StreetPass Pokemon battles, or Pokedex battles, people could have shared items, it could exchange trainer info, etc. etc. In fact, when Nintendo announced StreetPass, before I had ever even touched a Pokemon game, I thought "Hey, I bet that could be cool in a Pokemon game!" I'm just really disappointed with the StreetPass in this game, and I hope we can get an update or something, but that is EXTREMELY unlikely. So, what are your thoughts about this?
Pokemiles are great! I have over 50 Rare Candies just sitting in my bag from those!
Sure, but the real Pokémiles are accumulated through online play, like Wondertrades.
Most of the time with a streetpass, you get a whopping 1 PM for streetpassing a local, um, yippee?
Oh, no, the lack of cool StreetPass features doesn't ruin the game for me, I'm just kind of disappointed about it. I mean, this game really seemed to have some of the best possibilities for StreetPass and they didn't do anything for it. I love the game, although, I haven't tried much online stuff yet, other than the battle spot. I still need to make a global link account, too. Also, I think you get more pokemiles the more people you StreetPass at once. I was on vacation a few weeks ago and StreetPassed like 20 people in one go, and earned about 300 pokemiles! So, I guess I should look into the online a bit more. (But, I don't know, I don't really like the idea of trading for pokemon, at least the ones I can catch in the game. I feel like I want to actually fill my pokedex by catching and evolving them all. Maybe pokemiles will be useful after all if I can just use tons of rare candies!)
There's streetpass functionality in the game? Lol, 2 of my siblings own it too and I haven't noticed an increase in pokemiles, but I'll have to check again.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.

@Gioku I knew how to check, but I only get at most 6 streetpasses per day between my siblings so the increase has been about 10 since I last checked, so it's pretty pointless. I'll stick to wonder trading to get my pokemiles.

Glad to know I wasn't the only one disappointed with the feature, still love the game overall btw. I was expecting something similar to the black and white series which would of been great if it wasn't for that catch 22 (pokemon s.pass or 3ds) unless you carry 2 compatible handhelds.
It would of been cool to have something like a streetpass safari to make it "easier" (experience may vary) to get different pokemons or exchange data so you can view their PR video and/or battle their team. Awell there's always a next time.

I have a good idea for something they could have done. Let us register 6 of our Pokemon as our main team. The team data would be transferred by Streetpass, and there would be a mode to battle this team, controlled by CPU. And you could choose any team you've Streetpassed.

That is a good idea, Fire Emblem: Awakening did something like that and made StreetPasses actually interesting.
But yeah, the StreetPass for Pokemon XY is just lame.

I thought of something that would be cool. They should make an app that stays synced with your copy of PokemonX/Y and would allow you to battle others locally even without the cartridge, and it could also be used for some better StreetPass features. What do you think?
