Something else...can anyone tell me why in the world my marvel scale Dragonairs don't keep the bloody HA when I evolve them? This was the third one now and I'm getting incredibly pissy because of this. I already "wasted" a shiny with optimal IVs because of this nonsense as well :/
Dragonite has the HA Multiscale so it will never have Marvel Scale.
I should've worded it better. For some stupid reason the Marvel Scale/HA Dragonairs didn't get Multiscale/the HA as Dragonite.
Not that it matters because I actually still had an adamant HA Dragonite in Bank (with Extreme Speed to boot, yay) but it was pretty weird and frustrating.
Wait...they lost their HA? Oh damn it GameFreak.
Anyhow, got a Shiny Gastly with 5 perfect IVs and Very Good Defense. Timid with Disable and Perish Song while hatching one for a friend...

@Tsurii Are you sure that your Dragonair has Marvel Scale, or is it possible that during the monotony of breeding you got excited to see a shiny Dratini with good IVs and didn't bother to check whether it really had its HA or not?
All of my HA Dragonair have evolved into Multiscale Dragonite.
@Tsurii I wouldnt put it past them to overlook this. After all until the update Kadabra didnt learn Confusion at lv16 when it also gets its evolution move but every other Pokemon avoided it.

The pokedex upgrade isn't for sun and moon, its for the pokedex. Whenever you go into your boxes in pokebank, the pokedex is available when you press Y (menu) and then it registers all your pokemon from the game you're using.
Darn and I though we'd get the national dex...

@Araquanid - I don't mind that the pokedex is staying as Alola-only in Sun/Moon, kinda glad really. This is the first time I actually plan on completing the thing and them adding the national dex into the mix would effectively tell me to go get the over 700-something pokemon registered. That would be quite of a blow to my motivation personally.
Incidentally, GF don't seem to like patching in extra stuff to their main games. Any time there is an update for the games; it's for bug fixes and such.
hmm no national dex now i'm considering selling both games and getting X/Y and AS off craigslist. I finished the Alola Pokedex the only stamps i need are impossible ones for me and time consuming in the Battle Tree and Pokefinder, I think the only thing left that's achievable for me would be getting the remaining 25 Zygarde pieces and the remaining island scan Pokemon.
I have never played a minute of any Pokemon game in the past, but I am considering trying Pokemon Sun or Moon on 3DS. For someone who knows nothing about Pokemon, which is the better option - Sun or Moon? I have read many of the comparisons online, but most of them don't mean anything to me since I don't know anything at all about Pokemon. So which version should I go with?
And is there any difference playing in-game day vs. night, other than cosmetic? Most of my time would be after 6 PM, so would I want to choose one version or another based on the fact that I would almost always be playing during the 6 PM-5:59AM timeframe?
@Sargon There are some Pokémon that can only be found at day or at night, some Pokémon evolve only during one of them as well and then there are some items you can only obtain at specific time of day too. As long as you're not going for full Pokédex, your fine by playing only at day/night.
I bought Pokemon Sapphire, and some poor/kind fool has left me a free Zekrom, Kyogre, Latias, Rayquaza, Azelf, and Mesprit, and not much else - although it appears they weren't that much of a power player, with a lot of missing entries in the pokedex, they only left 14 other pokemon.
I've got a plan to get it over to my Sun collection, and it goes a little like this:
I deposit a caterpie (or equivalent) on X, asking for a legendary - say Kyogre.
I load up GTS on Sapphire and fulfill the request.
I transfer the legendary to my bank, whereby it can then be transferred to Sun
Or I could transfer them straight to the bank from Sapphire, although I was worried I might run into complications if I used that method.
Of course, the legendaries will come in very useful for spares to trade for legendaries I won't have access to, such as Ho-Oh and while I have the opportunity to catch some legendaries post game to transfer in addition, I think it would be best if I got on with the game myself, rather than wander around before I've experienced it all for myself.
That's exactly what I did. I don't know what I was worried about.
It's a pity there's no way to transfer mega stones - I spent all that time getting those mega stones in X, only for them to not be transferrable. I even found a Mewtwonium Y stone in among the items on the previous owner.
I suppose it's a good thing they're looking to give some of them out to Sun/Moon owners, but I was looking forward to getting an edge over my brother.
Please elaborate. I don't remember being told of any battle points when I linked my copy of Pokemon to the bank.
Furthermore, although a select number of stones are available for purchase at the Battle Tree, there are several missing.
