So you're saying that....

Picking up five eggs, hatching them, and doing a soft reset if nothing is good takes longer than....

Picking up eggs, hatching them, going to the PC and individually releasing the hundreds you won't use?

That's not how you should be doing it.

What you should be doing is picking up your eggs, hatching them, and then when you walk back to the PC release them, then go grab more. In data I kept for survey purposes, I've been able to hatch 63 eggs in a 60 minute time frame, with an empty box afterward without any clean up when I was done.

Literally just walking to your pc box and releasing your pokemon is much quicker than reseting your whole game to do it for you (also the first egg that develops is always the same, if you SR it does not infact change how the eggs are generated, they will remain the same as the previous save so you're literally resetting a technically shiny locked egg.)

Generating and hatching a batch of five eggs takes about three to five minutes. Soft resetting, less than ten seconds.

If the pokemon is set before you pick up the egg... Then just save before the lady goes arms-crossed. (Thanks for the tip).

I'm not saying my method is the one and only correct method, I'm just saying it's a fast, mess-free, way to hatch a ton of eggs.

8 pokemon left for shiny charm, was trading for a Weavile on GTS and the trade got interrupted and now I'm temp banned from trading ugh!!! That was the last one I was going to trade on the GTS. I was just about to ask for help evo'ing the rest too blah...

I have been an hour or two trying to chain a Politoed into existence.

If I can't find one before the sun rises, I'll just GTS for one...

In other news, I caught a dratini in a beast ball.

It very rarely comes to aid poliwag in that fancy park on the third island.

But only at night, AND only when it's raining. Fortunately, poliwag has rain dance.

During the day, poliwrath appears instead.

Oh snap, I didn't get a Politoed, but I got a shiny Poliwag!

The funny part is that I only realized it was shiny because of the loud star effect, the pokemon itself is basically just a tiny shade lighter in color.

Had I been more distracted, I would've probably killed it without ever noticing it.

Like seriously, look at this thing.

Been making a team for the Battle of Alola competition for the past few days and I gotta say that breeding feels a bit less tedious compared to other generations. The only long part of my team building was trying to get Dittos with the appropriate natures, rng can be quite cruel. Hoping tonight I can finish breeding so I can start EV training my team tomorrow since it won't be too long before the competition begins.

...Should I just go ahead and get the OST? Even though I haven't beaten the game yet?...(4th island, about to go into this canyon thing)

7hrs later... same thing. Has this happen to anyone playing? I have a solid internet connection so I really doubt it was my end.

I think there was a really really restrictive duration for that (like 24-72 hours I've heard).

Its purposely in there so people can't do the gen 6 cloning glitch.

Yea I have been reading around, read a few people saying they only had a 15 min wait but most seem to be 24-72hrs... what a window. Guess I don't blame them for trying something... but damn its punishing innocent people xD ughhh so close to charm too

I'm glad that soft ban only hit me once so far drove me nuts when it happened sitting right beside my modem. In other news finished my play through of Sun i think this is the first series since Gold/Silver/Crystal where i had both games and finished them so close together never had the DS games until the 3DS X/Y. Going to attempt to finish the Pokedex before the bank opens up and they probably add a national dex.

I just finished Sun and I know there is lots more to do

should I consider getting Moon also? I've never gotten both before but I just like this generation so much and I'm already missing the story mode.

Talking about shinies and training, I left the shiny Poliwag training for speed at the pokepelago. Too bad it's got a sassy nature, even though it has perfect speed, it won't be too good.

Haven't decided what to evolve her into, she's got perfect attack, so Poliwrath seems appropriate, but I don't have Politoed yet.

Well still can't use GTS, hope it will let me in a couple hours when I hit the 24hr mark xD

@Tsurii I can trade again and all set if your around, but if its to late for you and want to do it tomorrow that is chill too, I only have 30-40min.
