What does everyone think of the game? I just got it and I am addicted!

Totally worth it. The amiibo puzzles are especially thought-provoking

I haven't picked this up yet but definitely will eventually because I loved the first one. Is there any way to get the amiibo puzzles without the amiibo? And which ones give you puzzles?

As far as I know, you need the amiibos.

I used Mario, Link, Peach (or Toad), King Dedede, Kirby, Meta Knight, Bowser, Yoshi, and Luigi

Was playing the demo, didn't like it. I loved the Pokemon and Zelda Picross games and thought this might be worth it... based on the demo, it is not

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I played the demo and I definitely liked it. The inclusion of other shapes is a very novel idea. One thing I did notice was that the finished puzzles didn't move, unlike the original Picross 3D. Is that just because it was a demo, or is it in the full game like that as well? All in all, I will definitely get this, just to satisfy my Picross cravings.

On a side note, I went through Zelda Picross in no time, but still working my way through Pokemon Picross. So far I haven't spend money on it yet, just doing a puzzle a day if possible, and gathering Picrites by doing the Daily Challenge. I thank the freemium model from making me plow through that game as well, like I did Zelda Picross.

...So wait a second, this is a puzzle game series?! I thought you just made pixelly art things and that was it, thought it was just a waste of money. lol

EDIT: Guess I'll see what this about via the Zelda Picross. (since I can get it with My Nintendo)
But yeah, I love puzzle games. owo

Today I got my package in the mail, but it contained a stupid old book. I send it back, hopefully I still get the game. I am a bit nervous!

Update: Yessss, today I got the package with the right content! I'll start playing tonight!

Update 2: Ah, I love it! The new painting mechanic (wich is fun by the way) and dual numbers (wich wasn't in the first one, I think) make things more complex though. A misstake is much easier made!

playing through the game these holidays. great game (when you turn off the music and listen to some metal instead). i really don't understand why there isn't an editor again like in the first game. also the amiibo puzzles are stupid in the way that you can only unlock them with seperate toys that i don't have. shows that amiibos are nothing but a paywall in games.

I've played through the game now - except using the Amiibos (I'll use what I have soon).

And yeah... It's good, but not as good as the orginal Picross 3D IMHO.

The new orange blocks do add an extra element of challenge, but also ensure that the control method is more complex; it's too easy to mark the block in the wrong colour or remove it accidentally.

The puzzles also now appear directly in sets - I prefered the random nature of the original game, which were more of a graded difficulty (the original puzzles still made up sets, but you didn't know which until the puzzle was completed, so had limited knowledge of the puzzle you were making; the only clues were the backgrounds). In this game you can have sets of puzzles that are quite tricky, but the next set will be very easy, with no gradient in between sets.

I do love the wooden block nature of the finished puzzles (they look like kids actually made them from a set of wooden blocks), but they are sadly not animated, unlike the first game.

Strangely, I miss the taunting block character from the first game too. His animations were quite amusing. This game is strangely devoid of any humour or "fun" elements, making it seem very "dry".

It's definitely worthy of a purchase if you liked the original DS game. If you never played that, I'd say get it first. It's cheaper, less complex (control-wise) and IMHO the puzzles are far more enjoyable.
