Congrats, Mario 2. I enjoyed you except when I sold mine and redid all the star coins, but nonetheless, I enjoyed you. We all know that Mario 2 wan't the best NSMB. entry in that series, since U was so much better, it's not even funny.
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
@Gold it's LordJumpMad he's mad so reason won't work with him!

goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

I prefer New Super Mario Brothers 2 to every NSMB entry but the original, and retail-wise it's one of my favorites for the system. I still want to get the 1 million coins.
"The secret to ultimate power lies in the Alimbic Cluster."
This game is fun. I remember playing this game almost 12 hours straight.
As of today, I've spent 147 hours playing that game, just beating Kid Icarus Uprising, for 3rd most played game. I think I've spent over 20 hours trying to beat the impossible DLC. But I still haven't beaten it.
I got all the streetpass challenges I needed at at a convention in Toronto. With over 16 streetpasses on launch week alone. Its probably the most used streetpass feature for me, other than the plaza. I put plenty of hours into mastering my coin rush of 5-6, star-6, and 5-Tower. Putting a grand total of 16,710 coins.
Current coin total: 2,560,713 coins.
As you can see, I really like this game.
That's crazy that its been a year already. I really enjoyed the game. After I hit 1 million coins I stopped playing and moved on though. However, I may go back and do a speed run now or something.
Currently Playing: Splatoon, Need for Speed Rivals
The quality of that cake matches the quality of the game they're perfect for each other.
Cake quality is determined mostly by taste, therefor if it tastes awesome, then NSMB2 must be awesome. NSMB2 was awesome, therefor that cake must taste awesome and I want a slice of it.
NSMB2 was in my backlog until the 1 million coin promotion came along, then I gamed away until I had the million and finished the game. I had button imprints on my thumb for a while
Not the best Mario game, but not the worst either. If they had added Wario as a cameo or even the enemy, then I think it would have made sense having all the coins dotted all over the place.
Basically it'll be a marmite cake... you'll either love it or hate it.
All Mario games had level design as their reason to replay the game. New Super Mario Bros. 2, could have been a simple, play the game, enjoy the level design. Instead, they made a feature that was getting so stale, and revived it. Coin collecting used to be something so difficult. In the first few Super Mario Bros. coins weren't as common, as you would wish that a pipe can lead you to some coins. By New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Super Mario 3D Land, getting max lives wasn't too difficult, and Super Mario 3D Land had over 1000 lives. Mario truly lost its arcade flair by this point, and needed a reason to love coins again. New Super Mario Bros. 2 was the great solution. Giving you a new reason to play Mario, and a new feel for what to do.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 is the most creative Mario Adventure in the past decade, at a time where people were debating whether Mario was a one trick pony, and for that reason, you should give New Super Mario Bros. 2 the credit it deserves.
