What do you guys think is the hidden gem of 3ds exclusives?
Obviously you've got well known titles like Pokemon X&Y, Sun and Moon, Link Between Worlds, and Super Mario 3d Land. But are there any exclusives that in retrospect you would have picked up the system to play?
For me Heroes of Ruin is a hidden gem. It's an exclusive to the system and is so accessible and chilled. You can just play and follow the story while picking up loot and upgrading your character. The story is actually underrated and the music fits the scene so well.
The online was also great back in the day. It was so addictive.
I would love to see a sequel on Switch, but because of some bad reviews I doubt we'll get one.

Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers
Nobody here ever talked about that game but me, even i have ever created a thread about that game.
Such a forgotten Nintendo game.
I have both digital (USA) and physical (PAL) copies of that game.
I still haven't finished the game yet, nor even knowing what it looks like the Final Boss looking.
What a way for the 3DS to bow out and end its lifespan. It's a vast improvement over Q1 and I love details such as the UI meshing Persona 5's graphic design with the aesthetics of movie theater areas such as concession stands and how the battles transition using the rolling of film tape. It also has a considerably more focused narrative given it's just following the Phantom Thieves and doesn't have seperate campaigns for each game's cast like the first Q game, so it isn't nearly as heavy on the fanservice and callbacks to main entries as a result, even if it's still there, especially during the Unison Attacks. I also was surprised and impressed at how the game's narrative managed to incorporate the inclusion of the female protagonist from Persona 3 Portable, as it ties in perfectly with plot elements shared by one of the game's new characters Hikari, which I won't spoil because I feel more people should give the game a chance.
It's obviously underrated for the fact that it was the last major AAA third party release on the system in the West and as a result sold worse than Q1 by quite a margin, but I also feel that the lack of an English dub and the Nintendo community's saltiness over Scramble on Switch & Joker's inclusion in Smash not being prefaced by a Persona 5 port also probably diverted a lot of people away from it.
I think it functions well enough as a standalone game, but given the Q games' nature of being fanservicey as hell to people who've followed the series for years, I'd strongly recommend playing Persona 3, Persona 4 and Persona 5 first if you want to get into the finer details, especially since the Phantom Thieves' arc in Q2 takes place part way through P5 itself.
Not exactly exclusive to 3DS but I'd go with Yoshi's Woolly World. It released on Wii U at a time when it was clear Wii U didn't have much life left and then released on 3DS as Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World a month before the Switch launched when all eyes were on the Switch. Easily the best Yoshi game out there and for sure needs a port for the Switch (Wii U graphics + 3DS extra content just like Hyrule Warriors).

I was still upset for Dillon Dead Heat Breakers 3DS PAL after i ran out the time to destroy 1 Grock during chasing time (the Grock evolved into Final form and ran aggresively into Barracks and destroyed them) and my Dillon died due to ran out of Potions.
I haven't continued my progress on PAL version since then. The upset feeling that still lingering in my mind.
But my digital USA version has reached the part i can exploit more money by keep not completing the need materials for upcoming mission.
Project X Zone is a good pick. It's like the Super Smash Bros of Tactical RPGs with all the crossover characters.
I'd go for Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars though. That was easily the pick of the launch games for me, but pretty much dropped off the radar after a few months.
@TheFrenchiestFry I think it was great the game got localised unlike the latest Dragon Quest 3ds game. Its sad the 3ds won't have any new games coming out for it. The switch has so much shovelware on the eshop, it'd be cool if 1 or 2 full games would be released for 3ds. It'd be a smaller investment than developing for the current gen.
@BongoBongo123
Dillon Dead Heat Breakers was completely different with previous two games on 3DS eshop.
It was a Tower Defense genre game with Post Apocalypse place. Your objective is defend the town barracks from Grock invasion.
I second Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure. It's basically like a Professor Layton game but with rhythm minigames instead of puzzles, it's great.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Switch Online
Fantasy Life is probably the main one for me. Project X Zone 1 + 2 are both pretty great, but at the same time, I can sort of understand why they didn't do as well. Project X Zone 3 would be most welcome however. =)
I kind of wish Dragon Quest XI made its way out of Japan, as the 3DS version looked amazing, but technically not an exclusive.
I second Ever Oasis. It's an action/adventure and town management sim mashup by Grezzo, the same company who handled the Zelda OoT and MM 3DS remakes. I feel like it was held back from being truly amazing by a few small flaws, but the IP definitely has potential. Unfortunately, as both a new IP and by releasing later in the 3DS's lifespan, it snuck past the radars of many.
Currently playing: Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Famicom Detective Club: The Missing Heir (Switch)
@Tyranexx
I remembered Ever Oasis was pretty hard for beginner as you can easily get killed on the desert by snakes. I stopped playing the game for very long time (3 years) after i got Game Over by snake bites. 😫
