I guess I should make some Tranquilizer so I can capture it. That'll probably increase the odds of getting ears. I guess.

Capturing a Kut-Ku will not give you any more Kut-Ku Ears than killing it. Breaking the ears will give you a 50% chance of getting one in the rewards screen. Try collecting all the shiny drops, as they sometimes contain rare items - in Kut-Ku's case, a shiny has a 10% chance of being an Ear. I got a really early Deviljho Talon from a shiny.

Oh my god, guys, guys. You have to get the Gore Magala hunting horn. Upgraded to its fullest in high rank it just wrecks things weak to dragon damage. It's one of the only weapons with white sharpness. It's so, so good, lol.

Don't rub it in my face.

Oh, sorry. I think they raised the plate / gem droprates, though. I've gotten 2 earthdragon gems and several rathalos plates and a couple of gems in <10 runs. (Most of that's in high rank, mind. I'd focus on ranking up to 5 or 6 quick, not grinding.)

I finally finished all of the low rank village quests, well sorta. I dunno what quests I'm missing for 6 star rank since that's the only rank I have a silver check mark while 1-5 stars I have a gold one.

Maybe you still have to unlock a villager request. Or have it unlocked but haven't received it yet, check the mini maps to see if anyone has anything so say.

Perhaps, though I've checked all of the areas and I haven't seen any villager requests. I might assume I'll have to raise my Guild HR since there are some Urgent Quests that are unlocked when you're HR 7(Or that's at least what the wiki says).

Even if it was "pretty much MH3U" that's saying something because 3U was one of the greatest video games ever made. What's more though, is MH4U really is twice the game 3 Ultimate was. But by all means, believe whatever suits your fancy.

Well, just curb checked ShagMag to enter the glory of high rank. Now I just need to farm him once or twice for some Pure Scales and Horns. I already crossed into high rank in the guild days ago, so it looks like I'll be needing a new armor set pretty soon.

I'm thinking of continuing to upgrade my Gore/Ceanataur set with Sharpness+1/Speed Sharpening since it's got a great skill set, but I may craft the Nargacuga armor for Evasion/Evade Distance, and either gem up to Evasion+2 or if I can secure a good enough talisman, maybe go for Sharpness+1 (since it comes with a few points toward it already) or even Earplugs if I'm really lucky. It's got 7 slots, minus one to gem out the negative so let's say 6 slots, plus at least one on my weapon. That's SHOULD be enough to gem in Earplugs even without a talisman. Heck, with a talisman I could go for Earplugs AND a cherry skill on top, like Def Lock or Cap Guru.
