I got the full low rank Kirin set and I may have some spare parts to make a weapon or three. I like how the Thunderhorns are 100% drops if you break his horn, good thing I had Mind's Eye on. ^.^
I just got this game, currently have 21 hours on my female character and 8 hours on my male character.
I'm going to start sticking to one, I just made a male one for how the Seltas Armor looks (TTGL ftw!) Though I don't really think the Seltas armor would be worth it in the long run, I guess, so right now I'm looking for the best looking armor overall.
So what do you guys think? I'm thinking I should stick to the female right now.

In MH3U I played as a female character and put in 600 hours with her. For MH4U I decided to go with a male character this time. Idk, doesn't matter which one you go with but definitely pick one and stick with it.
As for armor, don't put too much stock into it until the end game. Cause by the time you make an armor set you'll outgrow it within a few monsters. You COULD just keep upgrading it, but it's best to craft new armor sets with better skills and more slots. Being in low rank, I'd just craft something good enough to get you through to high rank. Might have to upgrade a few times if you don't want to craft others in between, then same applies for high rank. It's not until G Rank that you'll want to start actually caring about great armor sets, because those are the ones you'll be using for hundreds of hours

I beat the elder dragon Magala. Boy that was hard. This really long cutscene followed that seemed almost like end credits but qithout the actual end credits. Does this mean I'm doing high rank quests now or

Shagaru Megala is pretty tough. Anyone who's facing him for the first time in single player, please bring all healing items you have. He's tough.

Ironically I didn't have too much trouble with him, he's probably tough to MH newcomers though.
