What's this for? Is it just for posting screenshots and commenting on games?
As well as what everyone else has said it's also useful for the same reasons a forum is useful for games more generally. You get to see what people think of a game before you buy it and get a look at screenshots. You get to sometimes interact with developers particularly with some of the smaller independent titles. You also get to ask for help if you're stuck on a particular point. Then there's the fan art that people produce which is probably the best thing about the whole service.
You can even do things like follow people you're interested in. So you can see what friends are playing or talking about or you can just find some good artists and see what they produce. You can also follow developers like Masahiro Sakurai and get updates on the games they're making. Basically all of the things.
That's interesting then! I'll probably forget about it since it's tucked so neatly into the corner and that, but it's nice to have the functionality. Although @Blastoise-san I thought they removed 3DS instant messaging and friend adding?
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
I have yet to update my 3DS. I'll do it in the morning, but I'm curious, how does it work? Let me rephase this, can Miiverse be used in-game? I know what Miiverse is.
The only communities for games I own are Mario Kart 7 and Animal Crossing: New Leaf.
I'm hoping for these communities soon:
Fire Emblem Awakening
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Mario Tennis Open
Mario & Sonic London 2012
Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance]
Sonic Generations
Project X Zone
The first 3 are guaranteed, but the others are ones I'd like to see and have a lot of fun on Miiverse with. (Particularly KH3D, with it's TWEWY references throughout Traverse Town.)
they have communities for every game i own as well....almost
missing Resident Evil Revelations, Style Savvy, and Ocarina of Time 3D.
Installed Miiverse on my 3DS just fine but it keeps telling me there's an update for Mii Plaza as well? Whenever I try to do the Mii Plaza update I'm getting an error code saying my 3DS can't connect to the internet...weird stuff. I'll try again later.

Getting that too. Also loose connection to the net whenever I stick the 3ds in sleep mode, so no relay hits for me either . Apparently there are server issues

Just use your most prominent email, you can change the club nintendo email to w/e you want. Its just the start of moving everything together so use the email you use the most so it will all fall under there over time.

I'm guessing I'm very much in the minority here, but after having a look at miiverse on 3DS I really don't see what all the fuss is about, but then I've never been a fan of social media sites to begin with and that seems to be what miiverse is, a scribbley twitter as far as I can tell unless I'm over looking something here.
@Reala I've been thinking pretty much the same thing. I'm glad The 3DS has been updated with Miiverse since so many people wanted it, but I highly doubt I'll use it much.
A person without a sense of humor is like a wagon without springs. It's jolted by every pebble on the road.

Miiverse is a strange hybrid between twitter and forums. It's just a nice way to talk to fellow people about the same game and look at (amazing) art, and I imagine with its inclusion we will now see games from Nintendo making use of it within the game. Obviously it can be improved upon in the future (mainly in display, it's a bit to simple to really dive in and create any long conversations), but it is strangely addicting depending on the game(Monster Hunter gets a lot of use out of it and I imagine Mario Kart and Smash will also).
I've made two posts and one comment so far. I can safely say that Miiverse for 3DS works quite efficiently and I'm proud it's here!
Games I'm playing currently: Legend of Zelda: A Link Betweeen Worlds, Tearaway
Games I'm excited for: Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros. 4, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8
3DS Friend Code: 1719-3467-7677
Nintendo Network ID: SupaSamiStar14

Ya, it's alright but there is no chat rooms it's just posting things and people liking it, maybe they should make a swapnote 2 with chat rooms on miiverse.
