I have the interview in that post, and you can find it on YouTube/I linked the YouTube video here, but could anyone help me with embedding it? How does one use bbcode to embed a YT video on Nintendo Life's forums?
Metal mario added to the roster is kinda lame but lakitu is cool it was on nintendo channel on the mario kart 7 interview
Woah! Lajitu is a playable character at long last?
Yes. My earlier post above has a picture of him (screenshot I took from the interview) and a link to the interview with footage of him driving around. So... cute... ugh.
Also, I have to agree that Metal Mario is kind of a cheap addition... its just Mario, but with a metallic texture. Metal Mario might have different stats though. He might be heavier, meaning items slow him down less, etc.
Well the good thing is that hackers don't hack to come first. But, blue shell hackers just makes the game impossible to race. My DS coudln't connect to the internet so... I want mario kart 7!
Not extremely into nintendo at the moment, but not really into anything else either. :|
Supriseed no one has been talking about the 8 player online. Anyword if battle mode is online this time around.?
As far as I know, all we know is there will be eight-player multiplayer online and off. No word of what modes are available has reached my ears. I'm pretty sure no one knows yet.

Some hackers do. There are FTW hackers, and FTL hackers. I've been drained in VR before in MKW. A guy hacked his VR to 1, came into my room, turned perma-invincibility on, used ten blue shells to catch up to me, then bob-omb spammed me for a minute straight. He left and got first when he figured I'd get last place and, because I would've gotten got beaten by so many places by a guy with such low VR, my VR would plummet. Luckily I went fast enough to get something like 8th, and some of the other players (mostly with guest accounts) stood still and let me pass. Guess the Guests figured they can't lose VR, so better if I don't get hack drained and they get lower placings.
One thing I hope they change, is the massive amount of VR/BR you lose for turning the game off midrace. Seriously, you lose five HUNDRED points every time you do it. Sometimes, you have to go and can't help it. It's not like I rage quit every ten minutes. The penalty should be much less severe. Maybe two hundred VR/BR? The high penalty also locks you into to geting drained by hackers, because your choices are either finish the race and lose around 400-500 VR, or quit the hack room and... lose 500 guaranteed.

I would assume that there's at the very least 8 player battle mode over local even if it's not online. I'd be surprised if it's not online though. I'm also fairly sure that online time trail leaderboards have been confirmed. I guess the real question is will the battle mode be gimped like the Wii version or will we be back to the old battle mode?
I also love the SNES and GBA tracks. I'm hoping for a SNES Bowser Castle or Koopa Beach.
Who isn't?

Yes, I think local battle mode is a given. I disliked MKW's battle mode, it was horrible. The fact you could not just play Balloon Battle by itself made no sense, and coin runners was really, REALLY, annoying. Double Dash is my favourite MK game for multiplayer, and part of the reason why is actually because the battle mode in MKW was so terrible in comparison. (Otherwise MKW might've edged it out had it had a better battle mode)
I don't see why Nintendo can't monitor for hackers, and then deactivate their Wii serial number from access to all online systems they control. Even if they only catch a few a week, it would start to scare off the 10-year olds with scripts.
Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense. Wii FC: 8378 9716 1696 8633 || "How can mushrooms give you extra life? Get the green ones." -
You know who they should put in Mario Kart/Party/Sports? Pauline. Seriously, why not?
And Prof E. Gadd.
That is genius! xD
My Top 5 Support Characters of Which Few Have Thought:
1. Lanky Kong (his kart chassis could be a giant fruit of some kind) 2. Lubba (his kart chassis could be a purple comet) 3. Plum (her kart chassis could be a modified golf buggy) 4. Snifit (its kart chassis could be a Torpedo Ted or something) 5. Dino Piranha (its kart chassis could be a hatched giant egg)

You can feasibly brick your Wii by hacking if you failhax. it's not exactly scaring away the kiddies. I doubt banning a few from online, which can be gotten around by hacking anyways, will work. I know several 10-15 year olds that hack, ftw or ftl, on MKW, and I doubt catching a few hackers out of a zillion and banning them will stop them from doing what they want. I personally don't have a problem with FTL hackers, it's just the FTW ones that tick me off.

If your DS does not connect, it is because your router's security is probably too high. While the 3DS can handle WPA2, the DS cannot. Might want to try lowering your security then connecting. There's also some things with router types that makes it so you might have to change some things in your router settings so the signal it uses is compatible with the DS, and all sorts of stuff like that. I personally don't bother using my DS online, because I want to use WPA2 and not have to lower it every time I want to play.
