Topic: ¿Is Mario Maker 3DS worth buying?

I heard the online is weird and no where as easy to get levels as the WiiU version and depends on street pass thingy where other players have to live nearby and have the game...

Well, is this true and worth a purchase?

The only way to get levels is by refreshing the random selection the game gives you, the 100 mario challenge is there, but you can't save those levels on your system after playing them for whatever reason. And you can't really share your own levels without having someone else with the game near you.

Still, the game has extensive content for one player, including the super mario challenge and 100 mario challenge, along with the maker, which is admittedly still fun and addictive to use. The super mario challenge is basically its own full mario game, with objectives and collectibles and atll.

If you are interested in playing more than sharing, then the game is still a worthy purchase. Specially if you find it cheap~

If you're planning to get famous with your extreme mad level making skillz or want to play the same levels as your favorite screechy youtuber, then you'd be better off getting the WiiU version.

IMO, Mario Maker is garbage. I like playing levels, not making them. I'm also not interested in playing impossible and ridiculous levels. When I bought Mario Maker Wii-U I was expecting lots of creative levels that felt like Nintendo made levels. I got something very different and very awful. The fact that the 3DS version is like the Wii-U version but worse, pretty much shows its a terrible purchase.

Thing is im not much into creating stuff. So playing levels is what i want. But im worried the good levels will be hard to find since its random.

Btw thx everyone for your replies, i appreciate all your feedback

Never tried the 3DS version but one reviewer admitted to liking the game as it was "one of the best 2D Marios in a while".

Basically the Nintendo made levels included in the game were really good.

I do hope to pick it up myself one day. Just waiting for a good price.

Super Mario 3D Land >>> New Super Mario Bros. 2
It's because the 3D rendering combined with Old School Mario games.
Quite Worthy, though not really Addictive as other games.
The Optional post game Level is kinda Challenging but still Passable.
Perfect for Short Burst gaming.
I gave it 7 / 10.

I got it last month when I was bored even though I had the Wii U version, but I must say when it came to playing levels, I actually prefer it on the 3DS, it's just to pick up and play unlike my U version in which I had to set it up and such.
I prefer the the way it looks/resolution on the 3DS as well, when it came to making levels (remade my personal best level for streetpass), felt the level creator was better just because more items were present and didn't have to shaken from other items along with not having to deal with a big gamepad...just a shame you can't upload levels, but on the bright side when remaking one of my levels, I was able to improve on it greatly and updated it on the Wii U.

The last thing which is sorta lucky, finding better levels to play on the 3DS version compared to the U, it's just recommendations, but still, just enjoying it that much more.
