Alright boys and girls lets take a look back at the legacy the Nintendo Ds has made for Pokemon in welcoming the new games. What is your favorite Pokemon game from gens IV and V, Why?
Personally I would Pick Platinum because when I played gen 3 games i was too young to appreciate them and Diamond was my favorite, so platinum has more Pokemon+frontier and HGSS were fun but nothing new.
Probably either platinum or soulsilver. While I personally loved the johto region and walking with pokemon, i felt like it was harder to have more pokemon due to there being less trainers to level up your pokemon, so probably pokemon platinum, which there wasnt anything i didnt really like.

HeartGold, but Black's a pretty close second. I've yet to play Platinum, but Pearl and Black 2 were awful in comparison to most other Main-line Pokemon games...

Although I'm a devout, diehard Pokemon fan and really enjoyed every title, IV and V are my least favorite gens. HG/SS was the best, in my opinion... the soundtrack was astounding, the visuals were great, and Johto (Along with Kanto, of course) in general was captured beautifully.
Explorers of Time/Darkness was amazing, too! Can't deny that ending from being a bit emotional...

Tie between Platinum & Heartgold for IV and then Black 2 for V. Platinum because I liked the part where you get Giratina, Heartgold for the nostalgia and being able to walk around with your pokemon. Black 2 because I found the game more fun and liked the story better.

Or do you mean the parts where the villains with zero motivation shoot ice at people? Or where your path s blocked by completely unnatural barriers for the dumbest reasons imaginable?
I'm sorry, but I just can't fathom how anyone could enjoy the trainwreck that was the story in Black 2...

Polar opposite. Unlike Black 2, it actually has obvious effort put into it. It wasn't much, but for a Pokemon game, I found it surprisingly compelling.

I thought that was a staple of the Pokémon games?
As for my favorite, it's hard to say. I didn't really fall in love with any of the Gen IV or V games. Not out of nostalgia for the older gens, they just came at a time when I had a slump in my enthusiasm for videogames. Hopefully Gen VI will be a turnaround.
For Gen IV, I'd say Platinum. HGSS are good, but the remakes just don't have that "Oooh, a new Pokémon/region" that made Gen II so special for me (I remember making probably horrible drawings of Marill and Bellossom during the wait for the games). Also, there were a couple things they could've fixed but didn't. Falkner, y u no use Hoothoot?!
Soulsilver. My favorite generation due to region, design of pokemon, and amount of content. The remake is even better due to enhanced graphics, even more content, amazing looking sprites, and no gen 5 pokemon.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
White 2. It's everything that Black/ White was, but with double the post-game content. I enjoyed the story, all the Pokemon (except Stunfisk. Go die Stunfisk.), and your friend wasn't a douchebag to you.
