I opened up Nintendo Video a couple days back and there was a new video: a "Building the Brand" clip again, this time about guitars. I opened it, and after a few seconds it stopped and there was a message on the screen saying something along the lines of "This video data has been corrupted" and took me back to the menu. I'm not too worried about that, but (this may be just Netflix being down) I couldn't connect to Netflix or Mario Kart 7 online (clogged servers, probably). I'm still paranoid about that (same error code; don't remember the number but it said it could either be caused by not being close enough to the router (which I was) or clogged servers) anyway. What exactly can file corruption do to your system? I can still use the Internet browser fine, so it's not my Internet connection in general.
Same problem here. I even deleted the Extra Data NV was using and re-downloaded the videos, but it still says "the video data is corrupted" about 11 seconds into the clip. I haven't experienced the problems you described with Netflix and MK7, mainly because I no longer use the former and haven't started using the latter, but hopefully it's just clogged servers with everyone who got a 3DS going "i haz teh try evryting wit mai systm!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!1!!!" for those two.
Mario Kart 7 works like a charm now. My 3DS needs charging, so I'm not sure about Netflix yet, but I'm fairly certain my system is safe. Nonetheless, I would like to know what exactly video corruption can do.
It's fixed now. NV should have downloaded a new version of the video where that doesn't happen, and if you still have the old version, you can just drag the timer dot thing past the 11 second mark and it'll play fine from there on.
