Topic: 3DS not playing DS games

I have a problem with multiple 3DS's. I have two 3DS's that won't play any DS games since this evening. It is every DS game, not just one. 3DS titles still work fine, as do downloaded games. The only thing different recently is the firmware update and that I've downloaded two games from the eshop.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah, I heard Nintendo put a DS blocker patch in the latest update to stop gamers from buying older games on the cheap... You must buy 3DS software at inflated prices from now on mate

If that was the case I'd buy a second hand DS and use an r4 card instead of buying games for the 3DS.

Your DS games might be bootleg.

I considered that. Quite a few are second hand. But not all of them. I have a dozen or so other games I can test it with tomorrow, but so far seven different DS games haven't worked, but four 3DS games have.

I usually play DS games in a DS Lite, but I just tried one in my 3DS and it worked fine.

Yup, I have no idea what the issue is with you... DS games are still working fine for me...
