I don't remember Mario Party: Island Tour getting pushed back either. Isn't that releasing in December?
Bravely Default will be releasing in Feb, as has been confirmed.
Kirby looked pretty far along in development, so I think it may get a spring or summer release.
Mario Golf: World Tour will probably get a spring or summer release (whatever season Kirby doesn't get released in).
Yoshi's New Island will probably be a fall or Christmas release, because of Mario & all that.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see both another Mario & Pokémon spin-off pop up throughout the year (maybe Pokémon Z rather than a spin-off, but I wouldn't be surprised if that Pikachu game in development released late next year as well).
As for Smash, if it's released next year at all, it'll probably be later in the year (would love to be wrong about this, though).

Pokemon Z. They almost always release a third of each gen, so why not this one? Red, Blue and Yellow. Gold, Silver and Crystal. Sapphire, Ruby and Emerald. Pearl, Diamond and Platinum. The only one they didn't do was black and white. They released 4 of them
^WHAT!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?! FEW decent titles?!?!?! heck, this year had so many great games I doubt I'll be able to get them all! the only way to say this year had few good games is completely despising RPGs of all kinds and smaller yet surprisingly good Eshop games too! and even so there's no denying that there were quite a few outstanding games released this year!
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

Barbiegirl, I usually agree with you, but saying "2013 has been a nightmare for 3DS owners" after you bought so many games and so many other excellent games have been released, even if they're not of your liking, is generalizing us and just plain rude.
@Barbiegurl777: I believe what @Morpheel is saying is that by saying that this year was a "nightmare" for game selection on 3DS, you've put everyone into one box that not everyone actually fits in. Not everybody thought that the game selection on 3DS this year was as bad as you did; in fact I'd say (but this is merely speculation) that most of us here thought quite the opposite. It's perfectly fine to have your own opinions, but projecting them onto everyone else is not always the wisest thing to do.
2014 without a new Metroid release is another year that the 3DS will remain behind the Nintendo DS in my opinion. Same can be said regarding WarioWare. Nintendo should tap into more of their IPs next year.
I hope Namco Bandai breaks their trend of only making licensed anime games for the system, and finally starts releasing their own IP again next year. I want me some 3D Soulcalibur.
The last game they released (that wasn't a licensed game) was Tales of the Abyss back in February 2012, with the next being that Pac-Man platformer (and even that is more of a tie in to their new Pac-Man cartoon, rather than a game in it's own right...)
I'd also like to see Tecmo Koei start supporting the system again in the west. Their last game was Dead or Alive Dimensions back in May 2011! They've released 2 Warriors games (Warriors VS & Samurai Warriors: Chronicles 2) & a Nobunaga's Ambition game since then, but none of them seem like they're coming over (and probably never will). I want a Ninja Gaiden darnit!

Smash 4's likely to be a holiday title just so that they have a major title to release then. E3 or Nintendo Directs could make announcements that could allow Smash to release earlier, but I don't see any major games that could be announced that would have a bigger impact in the holiday.

It's not the first time I write something like this and again I will get some hate but I have to say I am on the same side as Barbiegurl777. There are games on 3DS, but it's not for me, most of them. To the point I regret I have spent 160€ in this console... for 2 games only I don't regret (Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart). Maybe 3 if I add Luigi Mansion which was very charming, but I found it a bit boring finally...
Otherwise my feelings on some games that made me interested : NSMB2 is ok but not memorable, especially if you play it after the Wii version, Lego City is less ambitious than on WiiU, Castlevania has bad framerate, Sonic All Star Racing, looks pale and has a bad framerate, worst than Castlevania btw and Donkey Kong is a remake of a not very old game pfff.
I secretly hoped that the 3DS will be the revival of the N64 time. I hoped since the 3DS is a best seller that Nintendo will take more risk or opportunities to bring back us some licenses like Wave Race, 1080, or F-Zero. As well as others devs... I don't find arcade games like Midway in the 90' and 2000' used to do (Hydro Thunder, Cruis'n). Where are the Goldeneye or Perfect Dark of the 3DS ? Any 3D platformers ? I'm getting old maybe, not the market target anymore I guess.
I have faith in IronFall from VD Dev however and I wish more projects like this were on the way.

A 2-3 year old system will be behind a 7 year old (game wise) system. Do tell
I would be surprised if we don't see a WarioWare 3DS, but Intelligent has been busy this year (Fire Emblem, Paper Mario, etc.)

@FishieFish: They stuck to their release date with Pokémon X & Y! ...but not with Mario & Luigi: Dream Team... so I guess Nintendo sticking to its release dates is spotty at best... I hope SSB4 is one they stick with!
