You guys, I'm on a very tight budget and christmas is coming and I want to give something nice to my girlfriend, so, I decided that I'm going to buy her a 2DS, why a 2ds? because if I buy her a 3DS or 3DS XL I wont have any money left for games, or I'd only be able to buy her one single game, so I decided to buy her a 2DS and buy 2 or 3 games, depending on how much they cost. She's a fan of The Legend of Zelda and Smash Bros. so I'm pretty sure those are the best choices, but I'm not sure about a third game, can you guys help me with that? If it were for me, I'd grab Lost Worlds but I don't know, are there any gamer girls here that can help? Guys can help too!.
Pokemon? Phoenix Wright? Fire Emblem? Good old Mario Kart or Super Mario Bros/World? Do you know what kind of games she's into? There aren't just "games for girls" you know..
As for Zelda, there are currently two out for the system. Ocarina of Time 3D (a remake of the N64 title), and A Link Between Worlds (an all new top down Zelda game, heavily influenced by SNES' A Link to the Past). Pick up the one with the gameplay you think she'd enjoy more.
As for the third game, may I suggest a platformer? Super Mario 3D Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Kirby: Triple Deluxe, and New Super Mario Bros. 2 would all be great choices.
Get her both LoZ Ocarina of Time, LoZ A Link Between Worlds, and Smash Brothers. A Link Between Worlds is a lot of fun and if she likes Zelda she most likely will like it.
