XL. Such a sexy, sturdy handheld.

I would personally get the 3DS XL as it feels really comfortable in the hands and you have the benefit of having the 3D if you ever want to use it.

I personally found no problem with the 2DS' comfort, it fits in the hands quite nicely, but it lacked that bulk for me that the 3DS XL gives me. Also, the smaller screens on the 2DS was a turn off, especially after being used to the 3DS XL's screens for so long.

You guys have convinced me to pick up a 3DS XL as well, although I'll make a final test at the game store to see if the image on the XL screens isn't too stretched.

Yeah, that would be the main thing to check.

For most people it's ok, but some will find it too blurry.

I own both the 3DS XL & the 2DS. the 3DS XL is an amazing handheld with a large screen and quality to boot tho with long hours of play my hands start to cramp some. I have large hands so after long use it gets uncomfortable to hold.

Im sorry to say but the ONLY thing i like about the 2DS is the comfort. Its amazing to hold for multiple hours with no problem. other then that the 2DS to me personally is terrible. Im sorry to say but the screen is Dinky its awful how small it it. the sound tho Loud is Mono & muffled & my 2DS yes its new creeks on the sides. the blue sides on the left & right are some what loose & just the over all 2DS feels generic.

This is just my personal opinion as I know the 2DS is loved by the masses but I hate it. Im glad I did not pay for it because It would have gone right back to the store.

I just got my 3DS about two weeks ago. I almost went with the 2DS for price, comfort, and because a 4 year old will occasionally play it. I ended up going with the XL because of the clam shell design makes for easier transporting IMO. Also, the screen size and battery life contributed to the decision. I personally enjoy playing in 3D but I could also live without it. However, if you went with the 2DS, you could afford another game with the money you save.

I have both the 3DS and the 3DS XL. What's crazy is that after I've been using the XL for a while, when I need the 3DS for a second, it just looks miniature! I don't know about the 2DS being bigger but still having the same screen size. And personally, I would snap that thing in half before I got used to the fact that it doesn't close. 2DS just sounds like something you'd get for your 5-10 year old kids for Christmas or something.

Yeah, the XL has that effect of becoming the "normal size" after a while, it's kinda hard to go back to the normal screens after using it.

If the 2DS could fold it would actually be smaller than the original 3DS. Anyway, you'd need to be very distracted and strong to snap one in half.

I wish the XL came in the shape of a 2DS because I honestly find it more appealing than the clamshell design.

Forgive me if I'm just confused by the way you worded this but doesn't the 2DS solve that problem? Do you want a 2DS XL?

In a way with the bolded.

What I meant was I love the bigger screens(for the most part) and the 3D, etc. but I personally think the 2DS' tablet-like form is more appealing than the clamshell design. So pretty much take the 3DS XL and mold it into the appearance of a 2DS.

Okay so here is a little update, I can get the enough money for the 2DS within 2 weeks. If I don't get a 2DS I should have the money to buy a 3DS XL around August time and then in October I will be able to get a 3DS XL no matter what I choose to do. Should I wait for the end of August to get a 3DS XL or just get a 2DS now to tide me over until October?

If money's a problem, why not pick up a secondhand one, be it 2DS or 3DS XL?
