@Peek-a-boo: Agree wholeheartedly. I just don't get why we have to buy the same games on the 3DS yet again! Sounds pretty greedy...
I'll just stick with the SNES games on my Wii U. Heck they look nicer because SNES games are meant for the big screen.
I just went ahead and confirmed that SNES games will run only on the New 3DS.
Nahp. Not even nearly enough to grab me a N3DS. Like I said, I'll be playing SNES games on the Wii U.
@DJaa: Yeah, it probably will get it since I'm thinking Nintendo is going down the route where there is interconnectivity between their systems. NintendOS integrated with My Nintendo will help to bridge that gap.
@Vee_Flames: I very nearly caved in buying a new 3DS this time last year when Majora's Mask 3D was released, as well as trying out the remarkably improved 3D screen too, but it was more of a 'want' than a 'need' thing.
The good news about the SNES games on the new 3DS is the pixel count will be 1:1 meaning it will be the sharpest and clearest you'll ever see these games in motion.
For something like Super Metroid, it would be like looking at a new game so speak!
I am so bloody annoyed about the whole thing, especially when I am usually dishing out an abundance of positivity when it comes to new things like this.

I feel like it would have to happen in some sort of way to integrate all the(mynintendo) ideas they've been sharing. Like the whole getting rewarded by doing anything on anything nintendo related. Whether it to be mobile miitomo, or playing a game etc. The stuff is coming out this month so it would be strange if it were ONLY for NX thats coming in the future.
@TheLastLugia I misspoke. They aren't using micro transactions you're right. They're nickel and diming us on games we already own on the virtual console. Not the friendliest practice for a friendly video game company.
@Grumblevolcano Checkout Nintendo's website, based on the images of the new Kirby game, Monster Hunter Generations, a Tokyo Mirage #FE all three games appear to be digital only...man I hope that isn't the case because I wanted to get MHG and Tokyo Mirage #FE physically.
@andrew20: Well it's nice Nintendo's giving New 3DS owners another reason why their purchase wasn't a waste money. Now that it has happened, I wouldn't be surprised if GBA appears sometime soon as choosing Earthbound first makes me thinking they want New 3DS owners to have the full trilogy (of course Wii U also having Mother 3).
@Peek-a-boo: Haha, I'm not even sure I'm upgrading to the N3DS at this point. I can play the games I want to play on my 3DS or my brother's trusty 2DS/3DS XL. Sure, I want one but I don't need one... and Nintendo isn't doing much to change that. Oh well, I could always grab one for myself later down the road at a cheaper price. Or my brothers could get one for themselves lol
I'm still not sure what's the big deal with SNES games on the N3DS. I really don't understand it... no cross buy and it's only limited to the people who have a New 3DS. Hardly something to jump around for, IMO.
It does seem like n3ds is getting more and more exclusives. Which is crazy... Im actually excited about federation force. Have a feeling that its gonna have great gameplay all superficial reasons people complain about aside.
So, aside from Xenoblade (a port), and some SNES games that have seen multiple releases already, what are Ninty doing to sell the N3DS exactly? Not much IMO. They are really good at making things and dropping them like hot cakes when the initial well of ideas runs dry. Often they will incorporate a feature into their devices (the component costs of which are passed onto the loyal customer) and never/seldom use it....I'm looking at you Augmented Reality on 3DS - mic and camera on WiiU too!
