I still haven't finished the stuff that came with the main game in Hyrule Warriors (I'm only 106 hours in) let alone the already-released DLC. But since I got the "season pass" (ergh at that term), I'll end up with them all anyway.

Good job it's the best game ever.

Axelay, Afterburner II and Wii U Adventure Time for me. Yes, I know AT isn't great, but it's a bargain at that price so worth a punt I think.

Runner 2, Guacamelee! and SteamWorld Dig are bargains - if you've not got them yet I thoroughly recommend downloading them this week!

deKay commented on New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Editions Already I...:

@maceng in my current 3DS I have a "Lexar Professional 64GB Class 10 UHS-1 400x 60MB/s High Speed SDXC Memory Card". I've just bought a Samsung EVO 64GB MicroSD for a magically incoming New 3DS :)

I wrote a guide on how to transfer data from one card to another (Nintendo's method doesn't copy everything) and how to use an SDXC (rather than an SD or SDHC) card:

deKay commented on New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Editions Already I...:

@NintendoMaster That may be, but:

1) I need a second 3DS anyway. I intend to give my current one to my daughter
2) The battery life on my launch 3DS is now 90 minutes, max
3) The SD card slot intermittently stops reading SD cards
4) I don't want an XL - they're too big

deKay commented on Best of Mahjong:

Let me guess - another game that claims to be Mahjongg but is actually just Shanghai. Again.

Why aren't there any actual Mahjongg games unless you have a Famicom?

deKay commented on Review: Swords & Soldiers (Wii U eShop):

What I'd like to know is if they've fixed the last level so it isn't impossible any more. There's difficulty curves in games, sure, but in the Wii original this was like a gentle incline throughout the entire followed by the final level - a vertical wall twelve miles high. With spikes on it. And ninjas.

deKay commented on Hardware Classics: Bandai WonderSwan:

The Wonderswan was so cheap. I picked my first up, soon after release, for just £30. My SwanCrystal only cost about £40 too, not long after that came out. I don't think I paid more than £15 for any of the games - not even FFI, FFII and FFIV.

Loved the console, and it had some great unknown games. Disappointed that you've not mentioned Engacho! despite having a picture of it - it was certainly... unique:

Also great were Flash, Tarepanda no Gunpey, and (my first game for it) Tekken Card Fighters - the only Tekken game I've ever enjoyed!

deKay commented on Nintendo Download: 27th June (Europe):

Not sure why people are getting excited about Balloon Fight being 60Hz - it isn't. It clearly says "This is an optimised release of the EU version to reflect the speed of the US title." - therefore NOT 60Hz.

deKay commented on First Impressions: 3D Altered Beast:

@Alphack3r It's my tagline! They stole it!

Also: "Also included is a two-player link-up mode and the option to switch the order of the beast transformations; for example, the dragon becomes level one's monster and the wolf level two's. It's an interesting change and one that we admit we could have done with back in the early '90s, as it lends additional longevity to what is a painfully brief experience."

That facility was in the original Megadrive game!

deKay commented on Europe Now Receiving Club Nintendo Stars For A...:

It's odd, because although I've already claimed stars for 3D Excitebike and 3D Kid Icarus (back when they first came out), most other games couldn't be claimed at the time.

Oh and FWIW - don't go claiming stars unless you need them now - if they're sat in your account for a year without spending them you'll lose them. Best to wait until you need the points THEN claim them.

deKay commented on Review: Mahjong 3D - Warriors of the Emperor (...:

Yet another game called Mahjongg which isn't actually Mahjongg. Would it be too much to ask to have a proper Mahjongg game for once? Please? I'm still stuck playing one on the Famicom, in Japanese, because I can't find a version in English for any other console I own.
