And so they still believe we would gain gold coins from buying on the Switch eShop and then spend them for 3DS/WiiU games, I can't truly express how baffling it is to me

I use to love getting a Wii U discount and buying a new game. I have a 3DS but have zero interest doing this for the system.

This rewards programme is dead.

Nice one Nintendo, no other company in gaming offers rewards for previous consoles gained through purchases on current gen consoles. This just looks pathetic and tight fisted

Still wondering when folks will realize getting money back on eShop/Retail purchases is the Switch reward.

The math involved in these always made me wonder what Nintendo was thinking. You have to spend $1.70 worth of gold points to save 40% on a $40 game... I shouldn't have to grab a calculator to figure out if this is a deal or not. Also these games have been out for years, they should already be 30-40% off all the time.

That would be true for all other gaming companies and its sort of regrettable.

But on the other hand I must agree its also kind of cool. I mean you buy a game for full retail price and know its gonna keep its value (codename steam notwithstanding, lol)

To be fair this is kind of handy for picking up that occasional game you missed the first time around. Its not really doing any harm to anyone seeing as you can still use your gold coins on the Switch eshop should you want to.

See the thumb nail of majoras mask and was instantly in the bone zone. Alas, it wasnt to be. It just wasnt to be....

I glossed over this initially but the Majora's Mask 3D deal is actually quite good. You can't even find second-hand copies on eBay for that price in Europe as it was sadly never added to the Nintendo Selects line (unlike in North America).
