Saturday Morning RPG will launch on the Switch eShop on April 26th, it has been revealed.
An episodic JRPG "set in world heavily inspired by 1980s Saturday morning cartoons and pop culture", the game places you in the role of school-kid Marty, who finds himself blessed with the power to save the universe.
Packed with pop culture references and eye-catching visuals, Saturday Morning RPG also boasts a soundtrack by Vince DiCola (Transformers: The Animated Movie, Rocky IV) and his composing partner, Kenny Meriedeth (DuckTales, Power Rangers, X-Men).
The game will cost $9.99 at launch, and a physical version is coming on May 28th via Limited Run Games. This will cost $29.99.
In addition to this, a collector's version will also be released. This will be limited to 3,000 copies and will come with a steelbook case, two 3.75 inch scale posable action figures, an 18 x 24 inch poster, and a cassette tape featuring two songs from Vince DiCola. Expect to pay $69.99 for this premium version.
Which version will you be getting?

$30?!
They normally ask $10 above digital version and Switch-Tax couldn't be the case considering the game is ~800mb.
P.S. I love limited run games but the price for the collectors edition is outrageous, that CE is mostly scalper bait I'm afraid
I don't have any more money after the Tribute Box
Limited Run Games is synonymous with scalpers. I won't go near these physical releases.
@Pazuzu666 LRG had some great releases but I hate that feeling of BUY ME NOW OR OVERPAY A SCALPER LATER.
Fate of every "limited game runs" company.
At least with switch titles, they are taking preorders and fulfilling all of them instead of printing a set number and selling it in 30 seconds.
I'm going to try and get the collector's edition but I won't be phazed if I don't. I must say I am very grateful they have not limited the standard release for this platform.
So far the Switch's Limited Run series has been very good. Can't wait to see Slime-San and Thimbleweed get the releases they deserve
This game was kind of a 'Holy Grail' game on the Vita - in the UK at least. I only had a LRG game physical release and was only on the USA PSN store, meaning it was hard to get over here.
On ebay, it would regularly sell for £70+, so I'm happy to see the digital version is a sensible low price. I dont think the game is all that too be honest from the reviews I watched, but I'll probably still pick it up.
Nobody asked me if they could use my name or life story for a video game. Unauthorized!
I'll just pick up the digital version for the cost difference. If I had a ton of extra money I would buy these physical versions of Indie games but there are too many games to waste money on Indie titles I'm not sure I'll like a lot.
Ah. Saw this in the Estore yesterday and wondered if it was any good....opted for Manticore instead...
Although the physical version looks really cool and I want it, I can't justify spending that when I could spend $10... and furthermore when I've seen it on sale on Steam it has been as low as .99.
Still, never played it but you can bet I'm making the leap (digitally) in two days when it goes on sale! Can't wait to finally play this!
Huh, it's John Bailey. The guy for Honest Trailers. Neat.
Looks cool, belongs on a Nintendo console.
I remember the previous reviews being pretty mediocre, so will wait to see if they have updated anything. I really like the look and premise, however my backlog is just too deep for average games at this point
So this is only the first episode on a series of games not yet released on Steam?
this is gonna sink harder than the titanic.
This has been on my Steam wishlist for a while, but now that it's coming to Switch i should probably look into it more and see if it's worth my time. If so, i'd prefer it on Switch, but Steam sales are usually too tempting (especially since this seems like it might fall into the "70% off" category during the Summer Sale).
Big NO
@Grandpa_Pixel thimbleweed Park was LRG first Switch release about three weeks ago.
I'm not really into the graphical style... Also, it looks like it pays homage to a lot of 80s cartoon set pieces, but does very little in actually being anything else.
Hard pass.
Pulled from a vita review: The RPG can be completed in roughly seven hours, but there are some options after completing the story: Arena and Endless modes.
Yeah... hard pass
