My Nintendo has just been updated with some new, summery gear that you can get by entering the Summer Fun Sports Sweepstakes, which costs 10 Platinum Points to enter, and allows each entrant to make a total of three entries.
The prizes are:
- A Super Mario Soccer 1985 T-shirt from Fifth Sun (adult and junior sizes available)
- Mario Strikers: Battle League 10 5/8" diameter soccer ball
- Mario Strikers: Battle League duffle bag
- Nintendo Switch Sports duffle bag
- Nintendo Switch Sports and Mario Strikers: Battle League water bottles
The competition is only available to those in the USA or Canada (Quebec excluded), and will end on the 8th August. There will be ten winners, and each one will receive one of every prize.
If you don't win the competition, fear not — there are sporty rewards available to buy on the store for Platinum Points, too:
- Nintendo Switch Sports - Spocco Square Cooling Towel (550 PP)
- Mario Strikers: Battle League Drawstring Bag (600 PP)
Would you buy any of these if they were available as regular My Nintendo rewards? Tell us in the comments.

Quebec isn't included? What do they have against French Canadians? They love soccer I think maybe idk.
Finally, some decent physical rewards for North America!
Nintendo here not really taking advantage of the Womens Euros football finals tournament taking place in the UK at the moment.
That could have really promoted the Switch and Mario Strikers, especially as this a younger very well behaved football crowd male and female family oriented and all games free live on TV.
Then again I don’t think Nintendo PR know how to take advantage and advertising correctly outside of a few key games.
They always seem slightly out of touch with European main events that could help Switch and specific game sales, like Mario Strikers, Europe being a massive footballing nation.
Oh well perhaps one day they might put me in charge of Nintendo Europe 😂🏴🏴🏴
Is there anything one recommends to spend their expiring PPs on? The only thing semi-interesting to me is the Kirby bag, but it could be cheaply made...
@HotGoomba Because Quebec has separate laws when it comes to gambling. Even if it is free to enter. So they miss out on a lot of free stuff unfortunately.
this is the first theyve mentioned mario strikers since the game launched last month. i cant imagine it met expectations with it essentially only having quickplay, i find the mechanics too overwhelming to pick up again once you take a break from the game
That's it Nintendo why not do a promotion in the country that doesnt really like football (its called that because you use your feet not your hands) and as @Dezzy70 says, they really have missed a trick with the Womens Euros happening in the UK right now.
