Unlike many RPGs, money is actually quite a scarce resource in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. A few enemies and bosses can be a little bit challenging, so you’ll want to spend a good chunk of your coins on healing items here and there. The merchant Charlieton in Rogueport also sells tons of goods – some of which come at a high price.

In other words, there’s no shortage of things to spend your money on in this game, so we’ve put together a guide to help you find the best ways to farm money.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - How To Farm Money

Complete Trouble Center requests

The Trouble Center is one of the best places to visit throughout TTYD. As you progress, you will unlock multiple side quests, and many of them will give you Coins as a reward. Lots of them are quite easy, so it’s worth looking at our Trouble Center guide for more information.

Get the Money Money Badge

There’s a nifty Badge called the Money Money Badge that significantly increases the number of coins you earn after each battle. Unfortunately, obtaining that Badge can be rather time-consuming.

Even getting access to the badge requires you to clear several side quests at the Trouble Center, which in turn unlocks more prizes over at the Pianta Parlor, where the Money Money Badge is one such prize. It;ll cost you a lot of Pianta Tokens, though. It’s definitely worth going for if you need some cash!

Fight Amazy Dayzees

Side quests aside, a great way to farm both money and experience is to head to Twilight Trail and defeat Amazy Dayzees. These enemies have a chance of spawning in alongside Crazy Dayzees, but they also have a high chance of fleeing the battle.

As soon as you see one, we recommend using your absolute strongest moves to dispatch it as quickly as possible. Defeating an Amazy Dayzee with the Money Money Badge equipped will yield lots of coins. They're also a great way to level up quickly!

Go through Pit of 100 Trials

Another way to make money fast is to run through the Pit of 100 Trials, especially with the Money Money Badge equipped. You can actually equip multiple copies of the Money Money Badge to further increase the effect, though this requires even more Pianta Token grinding. The Pit of 100 Trials plus Money Money yields a ton of coins – even though the setup is complicated, it winds up being a huge payoff!
