It's always funny to me when this conversation comes up and people say, "Yeah, it'll obviously just be a more powerful Switch!" We all had the same conversation about the next Gameboy just being a more powerful GBA since it was already so successful and we got...the DS. Then we all expected the next Wii to just be a more powerful Wii since it was already so successful and we got...the Wii U. Even the DS upgrade was expected to be a more powerful DS and, it kind of was, but it also implemented 3D that was used heavily in both first and third-party games.

It seems very obvious to just do a Switch Pro (Super Switch, whatever), but Nintendo has had successes over and over again in the past and still chose to do something weird. Even if the next Switch is still a hybrid (It likely will be. It has saved them from manufacturing two separate systems and the masses have accepted larger handhelds now) it's going to have some very weird Nintendo thing about it. Just remains to be seen what the weird quirk will be.
