@Seacliff Sorry, but you're misinformed and are spreading misinformation. Do some research first instead of listening to rumors.

Natsume had OWNED the right to use the trademark. Natsume were the ones publishing and translating Harvest Moon since the very first Harvest Moon games up until after the N64 one. They're responsible for bringing the games to the West. The games were developed by another team (I forget the name) that Marvelous LATER bought.

Marvelous then wanted to have XSeed translate/localize the games to save money (Marvelous owns XSeed), but because the original Harvest Moon development team had a contract with Natsume, Marvelous essentially inherited that contract and had Natsume continue to publish the games. Once the contract was over, they broke off from Natsume and changed the name to Story of Seasons as Natsume still had the rights to the Harvest Moon trademark.

Without Natsume, you wouldn't have had all these Harvest Moon games to begin with.
