Dogyuun!! is the Toaplan magnificent octopus here. One of the greatest STG games of all-time. I regret parting with my PCB of it a couple of years back. Tremendous game.
Picked up Mahjong Solitaire Refresh yesterday. It's actually excellent. Well worth buying. More to it than just matching tiles too and loads of different modes and options to go through.
A heads up, the entire Terence Hill and Bud Spencer filmography is on Amazon Prime Video worldwide. Get a free trial if necessary. You have no excuses!
Start with Watch Out, We're Mad! first. Then watch Who Finds A Friend Finds The Treasure next.
Then go from there. Boot Hill is poo though so avoid that one. Enjoy!
SIDE NOTE: Completed about 50% of the game yesterday and it's brilliant. A real love letter game in every sense.
I recommend watching some of the movies first, especially the ones I mentioned as they feature heavily. That way you can enjoy all the love that went in to this game. It is not without it's flaws, granted, but we've waited four decades for this and it's truly wonderful. Go! Buy! NOW!
Start with Watch Out We're Mad! (in my opinion their finest hour) and then Who Finds A Friend Finds The Treasure.
Then just watch everything else except Boot Hill as that's poo. Can't wait to play this game! It's like 40 years or so of waiting for a video game in these lads is finally at an end. The wait is over. Milestone, historical day! And according to this review it's an excellent game too!
WHAT STARTLING AND EXCITING NEWS TO APPEAR FROM NOWHERE!! The loveable duo literally have DESERVED a video game for aeons!
I can't believe you can race the dune buggy from Watch Out We're Mad! And I hope the Oliver Onions sound track is included too!
This is the Switch's defining moment. The sheer fact this game even exists immediately propels them to the top of the charts. A scrolling beat em up is the most fitting genre imaginable for them too. No contest, this is epic news and I'm disgusted I have to do a day's work before I can throw money at the eShop as quickly as possible to buy this game.
I'm actually hyperventilating I'm that excited to play it. God rest your soul Bud Spencer you beautiful man. He'd have loved this game. Glad Terence Hill is around to see it happen. YAY!!!!
@8-Bit_Superman thanks for checking out the review!
It's painful to make that kind of recommendation within a Nintendo review, however the stark truth is that the MLB The Show series has no equal on any platform. It's locked down tight to the PlayStation platform and that is highly unlikely to change.
Sad times indeed but the best thing we can do is complain to the people behind RBI Baseball and/or appeal to other parties in the hopes they bring more and better baseball games to the Switch.
I had high hopes for RBI 18 prior to release, but the lack of gameplay videos even post-launch kind of said a lot to be honest.
Really hoping Pro Yakyuu 18 comes to Switch or Nintendo make a Mario one. Fingers crossed!
Out Of The Park Baseball 2019 might be worth considering if you want to drown to death in full-fat, full beans total and utter statistics annihilation.
@XCWarrior I honestly don't think you could cram all of MLB The Show in to a Switch cart and make it run nicely. It would need features removed and/or visuals stripping back.
Powerful Pro 2018 should be on Switch. It's bloody criminal Bandai Namco are shunning it in favour of the PS4 and Vita. Though it is cross platform which is a bonus.
@Darthroseman I remain optimistic but if it's like last year's equivalent of holding in a fart only to let it go and in the process slightly moisten your trolleys with a smattering of wet, mucusy poop then there really is no hope for a good slugger on Switch.
@Reignmaker The Show is extraordinary. It has so much packed in to it I think all it's missing is a groundskeeper simulation. No doubt it's included in this years edition.
Imagine The Show on Switch though, it would have to be peeled back so much to just get it to work there'd be nothing left.
Powerful Pro 2018 would be exospherically good though but oh no Bandai Namco took it away from us after the 3DS version. Disgraceful behaviour.
@bluedogrulez yes, but I've yet to read about any player doing it while off their tits!
I think in an interview in later years The Dock said he was annoyed he let a couple of players make base. What a character he was though!
I prefer the NPB rule that a perfect game is a solo effort. Whereas in MLB you can use a combination of SP, RP, CP and so on. Hence for me I prefer a no-no.
@Captain_Gonru totally agree on several points though in all honesty, MLB XX: The Show just nails absolutely everything you'd want in a sterile baseball game. There is no better game right now. '18 is shaping up to be an absolute WHOPPER game.
There's nothing else though. Powerful Pro aside. Fingers crossed someone with boules d'oro will come good and feed Nintendo sluggers the big meal we crave!

Re: Review: Crimzon Clover - World EXplosion - Another Must-Have Shmup For Your Switch
One of the absolute and very true greats of the STG genre. Crimzon Clover is right up there with the real, genuine and very best titles.
No-brainer purchase for fans. No-brainer purchase for the curious.
A genuinely staggering game. Buy it.
Re: Phil Spencer Praises Animal Crossing: New Horizons During The TGS Xbox Showcase
Who knew Phil was also moonlighting at Microsoft while working for Channel 4?
I wonder what Kirstie would say?

Not Tonight should be added to this list.
Where did I put my GameBoy magnifier?
Re: M2 Is Bringing Aleste Collection To Nintendo Switch
That Game Gear Micro. Proper trouser custard material there.
Re: Mario Kart Live Isn't Nintendo's First Try At Remote Control Cars
I have a Lefty RX. There were a few other sets and designs available in the 1970's before Nintendo discontinued them.
I scanned and stitched together the box artwork of my one on my blog ifanyone wants to take a look.
It's a single car box, not the double set in this article.

Re: Review: Super Mega Baseball 2: Ultimate Edition - Finally, A Decent Baseball Sim On Switch
@DockEllisD sadly Famista was removed from the eShop back in February along with all the DLC. Gutted because I kept meaning to buy it.
Konami's Pro Yakyuu is out now though. I've not had a chance to check it out yet.

The only thing better than this would be if the Mets sign Harper. #LGM

@ekwcll it's not an enforcement, merely a suggestion. Thanks for reading though.

@SethNintendo I said as recently as 2016 they 'owned' the Seattle Mariners.
Re: Soapbox: What Happened To All The Great Baseball Games On Nintendo Consoles?
@F-ZeroX I did mention the series, which is excellent. I could only cram in so much, else it would just turn in to one big list of games.

@Balladeer as long as there's a good lunch and tea sim during a 5 day test.
Re: Soapbox: What Happened To All The Great Baseball Games On Nintendo Consoles?
@Winklebottom Powerful Pro Baseball Heroes was available on the 3DS but Japan only. It's criminal the new one isn't coming to Switch.
Re: Soapbox: What Happened To All The Great Baseball Games On Nintendo Consoles?
@Rubbercookie SEGA's Clutch Hitter or perhaps Super Baseball 2020 are as good an arcade fit as I can think of alas.
Re: Soapbox: What Happened To All The Great Baseball Games On Nintendo Consoles?
@klingki thanks! How can you not love a man who 's hair alone puts the fear of God in to Timotei?
I refer of course to the mighty Noah Syndergaard. Hopefully he will play an actual season this year.
Go Mets!
