@NintendoByNature Unfortunately it would far more accurate to say that DMC3 and 4 are closer to Bayonetta from a sheer gameplay standpoint, as DMC1 is a first generation PS2 title and it shows. Don't get me wrong, it's still a fun game even by today's standards, but I can see how someone might get the wrong idea and find it undeserving of the praise that it got.
