"although with many zero-score reviews appearing on the day of the game's release (which just so happens to be when Metacritic first starts to allow review scores to be submitted), it's clear to see that fans of the series are using the feature as an opportunity to vent their frustrations, rather than actually test the game for themselves."
So... Just because people are posting reviews on the first day we assume that it is review bombing? Where is the evidence in that.
Fyi for the sake of my argument I have taken the liberty of taking a quick look at some numbers so people will see how unbelievably bias this statement is.
Zelda breath of the wild has received more than 400 reviews on metacritics on the first day of release and most of them are positive.
Since this article was written on Monday the 19th and the game was released on the 16th which gave it approximately 3 + days for the reviews to rack up to 558 reviews on metacritics. In the same time frame Zelda has far exceeded that number of reviews.
If people want to fact check me on metacritics reviews are 100 per page so just sort by date and click on the 5th tab and the 7th tab from the highest number.
Other popular titles also have similar results with many reviews in the first day and the following days after, which actually makes sense if you're not such a casual gamer. Personally I have beaten the elite four in Pokemon let's go in 3 days.
I think it is very double standard to say that if a game is heavily reviewed and those reviews turn out to be negative it is automatically called review bombing, fake and malicious while positive reviews are considered otherwise.
All this being said, it's just sad that sites like Amazon would condone this type of censorship and much sadder that some people on this site and this comment board finds it completely fine to defend this type of behavior based solely on baseless assumptions.
