"his creations" - Excuse me, I think you mean Shin Yamanouchi's creations? Shin Yamanouchi is the character designer for the Golden Sun games and is very much alive as far as I know. Hiroshi Kajiyama was one of the artists who worked on the games, yes, and he was responsible for monster design illustration in the first two games and Djinni designs in Dark Dawn. Yes, it's tragic he has passed on and I'm sure he'd be happy to see the work of passionate fans, but I feel the need to correct this misinformation that keeps going around.
