Re: New ZombiU Hardware Bundle Shuffling Towards North America

evildevil97

While I have no interest in the game, the Pro Controller would have made it worth it to me. It's the same price as the Deluxe bundle plus a Pro Controller, with ZombiU and a booklet added for free. While I would have liked to see Nintendo Land in disc form here, this is a terrific deal. Glad to see Nintendo trying bundles to push sales.

Re: 18-Rated Content on Wii U eShop Only Accessible for Four Hours a Day

evildevil97

"Only accessible for four hours a day"? Does that mean once downloaded, they're still unplayable outside that time frame? Either way, it's really stupid. That's what Parental Controls are for! I'd be shocked if a future patch doesn't change this. There's gotta be enough outcry before too long to pressure Nintendo to do something. I love Nintendo, but there's no excuse for this.

Re: Review: Nintendo Land (Wii U)

evildevil97

I put no thought into Nintendo Land at all. Wasn't actively looking forward to it, and if it wasn't in the Deluxe package, I wouldn't have gotten it. That being said, it's an amazing game. And I'm saying this having only played single player!

Re: You Fools, Blowing on NES Cartridges Is Not The Answer

evildevil97

This isn't really news. I knew about this for well over a decade. Someone working at a store back in the SNES or NES days mentioned this to a young me, and I never forgot it. Granted, it hasn't stopped me from blowing on NES cartridges, but still. This news is as new as a Super Mario World release date.

Re: Feature: In Defence of Super Mario Sunshine

evildevil97

I love Sunshine. I prefer it over SM64, but I assume that's mainly because I havent played SM64 when it was new, so it didnt have the same charm to me. (Come to think of it, I think my first real SM64 playthrough was after my first Sunshine playthrough!). It's hard to argue against SM64, in that it did more for the genre, as well. SM64 pretty much created the 3D Platformer. Instead, Sunshine is relegated to being the SMB2 of the 3D games. Sure, it was different, but when did "different" mean "terrible"?

And I think the voice acting was more of a "so bad, it's good" kind of thing. Bowser is the only one who shouldn't have had it. I thought it worked for Junior and Peach.

Plus, I'll go so far as to saying it had the best overworld in the 3D games. But that's not saying much. As great of a game as Galaxy is, it's hard to really back the Observatory.

Re: Reaction: Age Ratings and Video Games

evildevil97

I cant speak for the PEGI system, as I'm bound to ESRB. But I wish that video game ratings, at least in North America, stuck closer to the movie equivelent. A MA video game can easily end up with little to no difference in content as a PG-13 movie.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Digital Pricing

evildevil97

On the PS3, I only have two digital games that are also available in retail: inFamous, which I got for free following the 2011 PSN downtime, and Mortal Kombat vs DC, because it was only $12. About the price of some games on WiiWare. There's gotta be a good reason for me to go digital over physical. Usually, the reason is financial, and I can usually find things for that price anyway if I look hard enough.

Re: Feature: GameCube - GBA Connectivity and Wii U

evildevil97

I've spent a lot of time using the e-reader in SMA4:SMB3 (using the Gameboy Player as the second GBA). Probably doesnt count, but that's my main memory. I also spent a lot of time on the tiny island in Animal Crossing to dog for new NES games. The WiiU would be perfect for bringing this connectivity back for GCN VC games.
