Already have both VC games, but I definitely recommend Paper Mario for those with the Club Nintendo coinage who don't feel like spending the Wii Points for it.
While I have no interest in the game, the Pro Controller would have made it worth it to me. It's the same price as the Deluxe bundle plus a Pro Controller, with ZombiU and a booklet added for free. While I would have liked to see Nintendo Land in disc form here, this is a terrific deal. Glad to see Nintendo trying bundles to push sales.
Looking forward to it. I don't understand the complains about Epic Yarn being too easy. Have you guys actually tried for 100%? Some side missions are quite difficult.
I would've liked to see a Kirby attraction more than anything else. Though all I can think of is a reskin of Donkey Kong Crash Course. (Being a star eaten by a giant Kirby, trying to navigate out to the, errm... exit.)
I'm disappointed (just bought added funds to the eshop in preperation for it), but it's understandable. Always better to delay it and release a superior product than rush it.
And I question the "blame PEGI" or "legal reasons" defense. Are there similiar things blocking under-18 purchases on XBox and PS3? I'm sure I would've heard about it by now, and there'd be a similiar outcry if that was the case.
"Only accessible for four hours a day"? Does that mean once downloaded, they're still unplayable outside that time frame? Either way, it's really stupid. That's what Parental Controls are for! I'd be shocked if a future patch doesn't change this. There's gotta be enough outcry before too long to pressure Nintendo to do something. I love Nintendo, but there's no excuse for this.
I put no thought into Nintendo Land at all. Wasn't actively looking forward to it, and if it wasn't in the Deluxe package, I wouldn't have gotten it. That being said, it's an amazing game. And I'm saying this having only played single player!
This isn't really news. I knew about this for well over a decade. Someone working at a store back in the SNES or NES days mentioned this to a young me, and I never forgot it. Granted, it hasn't stopped me from blowing on NES cartridges, but still. This news is as new as a Super Mario World release date.
Gonna pick up a Deluxe from the Target I work at as soon as I can. If they're out, they're out. I'll end up with one eventually. I get discounts there, so I'll be paying a good price.
I love Sunshine. I prefer it over SM64, but I assume that's mainly because I havent played SM64 when it was new, so it didnt have the same charm to me. (Come to think of it, I think my first real SM64 playthrough was after my first Sunshine playthrough!). It's hard to argue against SM64, in that it did more for the genre, as well. SM64 pretty much created the 3D Platformer. Instead, Sunshine is relegated to being the SMB2 of the 3D games. Sure, it was different, but when did "different" mean "terrible"?
And I think the voice acting was more of a "so bad, it's good" kind of thing. Bowser is the only one who shouldn't have had it. I thought it worked for Junior and Peach.
Plus, I'll go so far as to saying it had the best overworld in the 3D games. But that's not saying much. As great of a game as Galaxy is, it's hard to really back the Observatory.
Disappointed Sly 4 wasnt nominated for "one to watch". Had to settle for Pikmin 3 there, and I'm not a huge fan of that series (yet!). Nintendo-wise, I voted Pushmo and Mario Kart 7, as well.
I cant speak for the PEGI system, as I'm bound to ESRB. But I wish that video game ratings, at least in North America, stuck closer to the movie equivelent. A MA video game can easily end up with little to no difference in content as a PG-13 movie.
On the PS3, I only have two digital games that are also available in retail: inFamous, which I got for free following the 2011 PSN downtime, and Mortal Kombat vs DC, because it was only $12. About the price of some games on WiiWare. There's gotta be a good reason for me to go digital over physical. Usually, the reason is financial, and I can usually find things for that price anyway if I look hard enough.
I've spent a lot of time using the e-reader in SMA4:SMB3 (using the Gameboy Player as the second GBA). Probably doesnt count, but that's my main memory. I also spent a lot of time on the tiny island in Animal Crossing to dog for new NES games. The WiiU would be perfect for bringing this connectivity back for GCN VC games.
Much better than the horrible Mario one. Too bad I have all of them on VC. (Except DL2, but I'll get it when it comes.) To those who havent gotten the collection on VC, this looks like a good way to do it. Seems to have all the VC main games except Superstar.

Re: Wind Waker Lookalike A Hat In Time Could Be Coming To The Wii U
I already hate the camera. Hopefully it's better than the video makes it look.

Re: You Can't Use Your Wii Virtual Console Saves With the Wii U Virtual Console
I don't see a problem in this. I'd be restarting whatever I want to play anyway.
Re: Nintendo Comes Out On Top In Consumer Experience Poll
While I've never had to use their customer service, some of the stories you guys are saying are terrific. Nintendoes what the others don't, I see!
Re: Nintendo Unveils The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD for Wii U
Never could get into Zelda, but Wind Waker interests me. Might give it a shot if the price is right.

Yoshi's Epic Yarn!
Re: Virtual Console Games Will Eventually Be Playable On Wii U GamePad Alone
So long as I don't have to rebuy things for Gamepad play, I'm stoked.
Re: Capcom Not Looking To Bring "Late Ports" To Wii U
Really? People are complaining about this? Late ports are rarely as good as the originals anyway.
Re: Nintendo Download: 27th December 2012 (North America)
I'm interested in Fluidity, and Lost Levels might be fun with the save states. Holding off on both for the time being though.
Re: Talking Point: Test Running Rayman Legends
Demo for Legends impressed me more than the demo for Origins. I think Castle Rock sold me on the game.
I really should finish Origins first though.

Still waiting for it to be released in NA.

BurgerTime, eh? First Wii VC release to pique my interest in quite awhile.

Didnt know this existed. Will consider the Wii U version, especially if there's off-tv play.

Super Paper Mario is better than Sticker Star, for the reasons mentioned in this article.

Re: Review: Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition (Wii)
If it werent for VC, I'd have gotten this. Due to having almost all the games on VC, I can't justify it. Though I would've liked the soundtrack CD....

I was looking forward to Animales de la Muerte before it was cancelled.

I'm surprised both sets include HDMI cables! Getting the Deluxe.

Bethesda games are buggy as hell anyway.

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Six
Already beat the main NSMB2 game, so it's between Coin Rush and Superstar Saga. Been replaying the Mario and Luigi series (in reverse).

Re: New Super Mario Bros. 2 Typo Isn't So Golden
This isnt the only typo. There's also at least one in the Operations Manual about DLC... telling us "How to Purchase Downloadble Course Packs".
Re: Feature: Our Favourite Super Mario Games
SMB3 > SMW.
World was just generic. Basic level themes. 3 took it to a new level, with Pipe and Giant Lands.

Yuck. Sonic Blast is just awful.
Re: ShopTo Lists Wii U at Speculative £280
$350 seems like a reasonable price to me. Cheaper than a month of rent, that's for sure.
